Julien’s Upcoming Hero Phaser & Communicator Auction

Speaking of replicas…

The Scratchbuilt Hero by robn1 is sooooo close to the Finney / TMOST

You sir have stolen my thunder, please return one thunder to me immediately. ;)

It could be possible that more than one of us thought of Rob’s scratchbuild, but here I stand thunderless.

Seriously though, your thoughts to my thoughts.

Edit: I guess my tongue in cheek little joke didn’t land with Captain Dunsel , ah well…

I now find myself wondering if John Long restored the missing parts on these props (I'm told that the phaser meter and brass handle butt plate have been replaced, along with the comm's moire ring and graphics) using replica parts made by the very same vendor whose parts were used on the forgeries.

The mind boggles.
No this is not true. Any parts were handmade by John Long using the extensive reference material that he has from the Jein phaser and communicators (he borrowed them from Greg and had them in his possession for a very long time). Any found parts were period stock that he has collected over the years and felt they were absolutely necessary to do justice to these. They are optional/removable from the original prop. Absolute consideration for the importance of these props was the goal. They were treated like historical artifacts like all of these props should be treated (as opposed to breaking the nozzle and getting jb weld all over the prop ). The new owner can put the parts on or leave them off and it is exactly the prop as it was.

John completely made the bottom phaser in his shop from scratch from copying Greg's phaser and is up to any task needed to make these perfect. Sorry for the lighting, it is fluorescent in my office and washes everything I try to take a pic of out. The colors on this are dead on to the original hero in person.

That's an interesting tidbit I don't recall seeing before. Stones in the knob T-Jets.

I've seen many screencaps where you can clearly see they are not there.
Maybe in the "Day of the Dove" I can pretend I might be able to see something, but that's about it.

Just never even heard of that before. I feel like that's new.

Some Archived Photos from a COVID visit to Greg and his best friend Glen. These are more comprehensive than the Heritage Auctions Catalog Photos.

I will be interested to see the Juliens Items photographs to compare with my files of (a) real/verified, (b) Ron Shankos VG fiberglass repros, (c) John Longs VG urethane and fiberglass repros.

So, we are comparing the GJ with the fake phaser auctioned off a few years ago? What is the point?

For the record the photos in posts 267 & 269 are NOT two original heroes.
