Nice. I think all of us Dredd costumers should try to have alt badges. That way if we're all fortunate to parade together sometime we all have our own names (and we don't have to fight over who gets to be Dredd).
Besides, there's a certain thrill for any 2000AD fan when you get a judge badge with your own name on it. There was for me anyway.
Maybe we need to start a Judge version of something like the 501st. And one of the "rules" will be that judges should strive to have an alternate name badge.
Who knows, maybe the new Dredd movie will increase interest a bit and we'll be able to gather a group of judges for Dragoncon 2012. I know I plan to be there.
here is me and my wife as dredd and anderson at play on con this past weekend,
i had to lose the chin because of the heat and sweat. i am going to try to make the chin out of foamlatex because of the weight and heat problems i am having with the silicone.
That's an amazing effort from the pair of you! Flawless Judges!
I'll never be able to make armour that good - instead I'm focusing on the smaller items. My next project is a Birdie - small, simple and hopefully humorous!
thanks for the kind remarks. my dredd would not have looked as good without help from judge minty, max replica, dan at custom creations and my wife's patience while i built this cossie.
definately one of my favorite cossies, alot of fun to wear.
Anyway, Bungle, you did great, and you did the major components yourself, from scratch. Congratulations. Now off to Dragon*Con, right?
I'm glad everyone here on the RPF has been so receptive to our Judge costumes. Hopefully it will inspire others to join us.
One thing I would have done differently on mine, I wish I'd left a little more space inside my helmet when I glued in the foam. It could really use a sweatband in there.
