Weird on the color. Haven't seen that. The one thing I hated were all those little channels that had to be cut out. Ah, the good ole' days.
 
I would imagine that if you're doing a few small castings then this would be ideal, never used this type of kit before as normally I buy in bulk...sounds reasonably priced. Sounds like it's a polyurethane resin (as it's a tan colour and goes off quickly) so once you've done the moulds...that will take the most time, you shouldn't have long to wait :)

I've finally gotten somewhere with this. After messing around with the silicone and testing I finally cast my first part:

I ended up using two different kinds of silicone to make the complete mold.

It's far from perfect but its also a far cry better than trying to sculpt from scratch!

Very nice, but everything above the main model where the vinyl pour sprout is, is basically wasted silicone and resin. Just have the mold stop at the original pour sprout - it also gives you a wider opening to pour the resin into and makes trapped air easier to escape. :thumbsup
