Joker Glock discussion

It is now assumed that the Glock the Joker uses is a modified 17, with polished or chromed slide.
In several takes of the prologue you can clearly see tht the Glock does not have the automaric fire selector, so it is not a 18.
For its general proportions it does not seem to be a 19 or a 23 or 17L
How do we know it´s a 17 and not a 21, 22 or 20?
And, ther is a take, just when the Joker puts his bag on a desk to take out the granades, with a close take of the bag, and you can clearly see the back plate of the slide, where is a "notch" that is only present on the 18, as far as I know.
So, do you think that in some takes is a 18 and in others a 17?

Images would help immensely as some of us have only seen the movie once (an not in IMAX). :lol

But seriously, do you have a pic of the "notch" on the back? I have seen the pic of the side of the pistol sans selector, but have not seen a pic of what you are referring to.

Ok!

Here is the "notch" (I don´t know its function

Same notch?

Good catch.

I was pretty sure it was a 17 at this point. I wonder if any other glocks have that little pin or what the purpose is. I'll take a look and see what I can dig up.

possibly, it could be a "non gun". If thats so, it could be anything from a casting, deactivated real gun, machined piece or even an off the shelf airsoft thats been converted to fire electric charges. Depending on the films armourer, it could even be a blowback capgun.

Im not saying its any of these, just something to keep in mind.

considering how HARD G18s are to get and you have to be trained by a Glock Certified technician before taking possession, i would guess its a Modded 17
not that hard to make a 17 full auto, in fact remember seeing a kit you can buy for a 17 to make it select fire..... albeit it becomes a class 3 weapon at that point

I haven't been able to come up with anything. Maybe its just a trick of the light in that pic. Some HD captures would be real helpful in a case like this. There's got to be somebody with BB on Blu-Ray. I know the new version comes with the bank hiest scene on it.

I've got it and it's at my friend's house. I'll get it back tonight and take a look.

It should be an 18, if it has that little nub on the back. I am sure movie gun companies have no problem getting glock 18's. Hollywood has the best armory.

I really can't tell them apart to be honest. Aside from the markings on the slide, there isn't much to go by.
The only ones I've seen with the little pin in the back of the slide is the 18.
It's possible that the pin is part of the full auto mechanism and that it was added to whatever Glocks they modified for the film.
Really can't say for sure without some good pics.

EDIT: Yeah, CeSquared hit the nail on the head.:lol

The 18 wouldn't show up on that list since its not sold to civilians I suppose. :confused
So that narrows it down to the 17,19,26, and 34. I'll check out the 26 and 34 and see what they look like.

EDIT: Yeah, 26 is sub-compact. 34 is a longer gun. Definitely not either of those.

Yep.

I checked out the 19. It seems the same as the 17 for the most part. I'm sure there's some kind of upgrade or something but I can't tell.

I just don't see why they'd use an 18 (real or otherwise) for that one shot, and then use another modded gun for the rest. :confused

EDIT: Apparently the 19 is a smaller gun dimension wise. It's compact, not as large as the 17/18.

The 19 has a shorter barrel, and you can tell from the images it is not.
We are again with 17 and 18...
