Ok every time I watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs with my kid I mean to ask about this but forget. During the end credits, we see images of famous places around the world destroyed by food, a rainbow wipes across the screen, then we see the place repaired by food. BUT, at one point we see the parliament building, with no damage. The rainbow wipes across the screen, and still, the parliament building, unchanged. I've never gotten what this is supposed to mean... does this make sense to anyone else???

the only thing i can think of is they were not allowed to used a defaced image, which then begs question why use Parliment

Is it kinda like how they show detroit in that scary movie (i think part 4)?
When they show detroit all tore up n stuff as a before clip, then the after clip its the same except for the War of the Worlds spaceships are put in haha

It's just a classic old joke. Establish a set of circumstances and have one that doesn't fit. Duck duck duck goose. You're expecting parliament to be food-ized, but it wasn't. I think you're reading into it too much ;)

The food machine made the sky dark and scary. When they destroyed the machine, the sky cleared up and was beautiful and blue, except over Parliament, where the sky is always dark and scary.

That's what I took away from it. That's one of my favorite movies to watch with the kids.

I took it as that just how bland and gloomy the uk is always portrayed in entertainment. You can't un-bland the UK. Always grey and cloudy. Ha.

No different than us Canadians with our snow and horse riding mounties

Could be an old spitting image joke.

Thatcher and her cabinet are in a posh restaurant, the waiter asks Thatcher what she would like.
"Steak, well done." she replies.
"And the vegetables?" the waiter replies.
"They will have the same"

I really wish they'd release that series over here in the US on dvd. The closest we got was DC follies and i remember it as being rather bland.

It was so topical and of its time, I doubt half the jokes would make sense now, still worth looking out for clips on youtube, especially the south africa jokes.

Never put a better bit of Boata on your knife!
