Joaquin Phoenix HER Clothing/Glasses

Anyone have any alternatives on his red jacket/windbreaker.

Ive been searching around like crazy looking for a jacket like Theodore's. I really want one like this for spring, but I haven't found anything close. And I've looked EVERYWHERE.

If you search red wool jacket on etsy or the bay there's some SIMILAR looking ones.

Too bad its Big and Tall and not normal sizes...can we find it other sizes? Oh and I too ordered my Warby Parker glasses today super pumped. And does anyone know of any knock off or close enough wing tipped shoes like the ones in the movie? Sorry to sound so cheap by the way lol, but I/ tyring to work with what I have.

-Hey joel do you think the red jacket is made of wool? Wouldn't it be super hot and heavy? Or again probably just a close enough, but super good lead though!

close enough? You mean complete rip off ! Wish I would've known about these before spending $200 on the Cole Haan.

As for the jacket it's hard to tell..it also looks like cotton or canvas (kind of like a Lab coat)

Yeah, I ordered my sketchers this morning. Sorry for the bad news...can you return them and grab these? Well I just noticed I have to change out the laces but that's no biggie. Now I'll need to get going on finding a red shirt and getting that tailored.

Since we can't get a functioning case like in the film, can anyone point me anywhere that has cool phone cases? I know that's a broad question but maybe we can find something close or cooler.

As for the shirt, the brand used in the movie is BAND OF OUTSIDERS (according to Casey Storm). However, those shirts are really really expensive (around $300). I just scored one off the bay for $100 and it is a used one.

$300 for a shirt..a SHIRT!? Sorry but thats crazy lol, I'll find a close enough for under 40.

By the way I'm still on a search for the "beach shirt" that theo wears. That IZOD shirt is only in big and tall sizes and that stinks because if you change out the buttons, it looks soo close to on screen. Any help would be great!

Oh and I'm starting to think that Theo's red jacket he wears in the beginning isn't a jacket BUT just a red collared shirt. Through out the film he wears two shirts over top each other, like when he goes to Amy Adam's apartment to see her video. So, I think this pic shows it:

I don't have much to add to this thread, but I just wanted to say it's awesome. I loved this movie and the costume design was amazing - weird yet very familiar.

What's everyone doing about the pants? I'm sure they're bespoke, but there's gotta be a cheap and easy way to mimic the high-waisted look. I suggested to a buddy of mine that to go with pleated pants a couple sizes longer than his usual, belt them a bit higher than normal and hem the bottoms.

As for the phone, it looks very similar in size and shape to an old flip planner/calculator I used to have lying around. The case was made out of brushed aluminum too, so it had a nice look. I'll try and track it down for you guys and get some pics in.

Yeah! Keep the thread going! I just ordered my red shirt just now and found a tailor to remove the collar and hem it for 5 bucks, and for the phone case....man I would like something close and functional. Congrats on the glasses I'm sure they will look awesome!

Actually quite excited about Nicks kit. Even though it's going to be nonfunctional, it's a cool object. I like how Joaquin used a big safety pin to keep her propped up in his pocket.
 
Just got the glasses!They're smaller than I thought (or I have a big face), they look great.

I'm picking up the Cole Haan later today at the post office.
 
I bought the glasses and the shoes and then returned both.

Like joelgoodson said, the glasses are too small. They are the same shape and style as in the movie (the color looks a bit off), but the size of the frames in the movie is definitely bigger. I'm guessing they were a custom size job, or Joaquin Phoenix has an incredibly small head. The thing is, I got the "home try on" beforehand, and it was also different than the final product I was sent. I can only deduce that each frame is "unique" and the producers custom-picked the largest size frame available on hand. Based on that, I can't really recommend the Warby Parker "Begley" glasses. Also, I think the "Whiskey Tortoise" might be closer to the color than the "Greystone."

As for the shoes, I just plain didn't like them. They're comfortable, but just didn't look right on me and the suede upper stained too easily.

Still trying to find a good shirt, but I think I'm giving up on the look for now. I'm not "hip" enough to pull it off.

I think the glasses look bigger on Joaquin because hes a small guy. I read he's barely 5'8 and really skinny, so they could appear bigger because of his size.

Also I sent a tweet to Casey Storm about what jacket was worn by theo in the films opening...with no luck. I'm not surprised he didn't answer, but I really want to know what this thing is lol.
