JJ ABRAMS Enterprise

He rode the cycle up to runway to look at the Tomcats or somethin.

I do remember his riding it beside a runway with plans taking off. Not really Enterpise scale but it did happen. Still I am old and my memory is not what it once was so maybe I missed something.

I actually would have preferred if they built the Enterprise in space, but that is just because it is what I expected. I would get bored quick if everyone did what i expected so it doesn't bother me, I think the film looks great and I trust it works well in the story so that is alright. I think that is a great shot of him riding up to it.
Sorry to interrupt the bashing, please continue....

You do realize that by dropping a 1966 Vette down a chasm JJ Abrams and team may be expressing a metaphor of what they intend to do to the original TOS with their rework and reboot since TOS came out in 66? Yeah, I'm reaching but you never know.

Still, if this is what it takes to make Trek exciting again then drop away.

:confused

I never thought of that, but that could be what they are saying. Interesting! :lol

Ha!

That's an interesting catch...and just the kind of smug thumb-nosing I wouldn't be surprised to find intentional.

But even if it's coincidence or even a cinematic Freuidan slip, it certainly seems a relevant metaphor for us ol;' skool Trekkies.

;)

Now that I LIKE!
The metaphoric idea - not the fact JJ think's he's justified to do such.
Very well thought out!

That sounds about right - and guess what, there's not a new car on the market as beautiful as a 66 vette... even when they try to remake the older cars they get it wrong.

Is this movie going to have a rockin' soundtrack?

Revvin' up your warp core
Listen to her howlin' roar
Duranium under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go

Highway to the Neutral Zone
Ride into the Neutral Zone

Headin' into deep black
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the star track
And shovin' into warp drive

Highway to the Neutral Zone
I'll take you
Right into the Neutral Zone
:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Now that is good!

The classic Enterprise is supposed to be just under 1000 feet long. This is bourne out by the refit model at 1:350 coming in at about 3 feet long and the 1:1000 scale classic model at around a foot long.

no, yeah, err... I know that, but I mean the Abrams-Prise
Shes 2500 feet long

Well, if the Kelvin had 800 people on board and in TNG, the Ent-D had 1000.....

I guess by the time the alternate TNG universe comes along the ENT-D will have 4000 in her. Let's just hope that her Captain won't be tea toatiling French man who surrenders on his maiden voyage to the first opponent he comes across! :lol
