Unlimited Run Jimmiroquai's TFA/TLJ Stormtrooper Armor Set: Casting on demand

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

Would of been all over this but I am too tall. :( Need to stretch it to 6'1" :)

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

I would be interested in getting on the list for the shoulder bells, forearms, and the chest/back piece. I'm going to be doing the TFA Tie pilot. How much would it be for just those parts?

Let me get back to you once i finish this run. By then i'll have a better idea. Thanks! I plan to do the Tie Fighter Pilot as well in the near future.

I wish i could say that it would fit without mods but i'm not really sure...

Good news! My fiberglass guy says that the last 5 sets of the Sept run will be done by Thursday next week. So that's almost 2 weeks ahead of schedule. This means that we can already start the October run of 12 sets. So #s 1-12 in the waiting list are included in the October run. While the target release date is still pegged at end of October or early November, i'm pretty sure we can get your sets cast and shipped out by mid October. I will be needing the 40% down payment on or before next Thursday to start casting your order. Once the DP is made, i can send your helmet (if you ordered a full set) ahead of the armor so you can start work on that. I will be contacting those included in the October run individually via pm.

For #13 and above on the waiting list, i'll let you know if there are any cancellations or deferrals by friday next week. If there are none, I'll let you know when we can start casting for the next run.

absolutely i have a deposit ready to go should anyone above me have to bail out :D

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

Just had notification that my helmet is at the postage depot - so I'm hoping to go and collect it tomorrow.

very excited.

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

My fiberglass guy just messaged me that i can pick up Sept run sets 6-10 by tomorrow. So i'll be contacting the owners of these sets that i can ship these out this week as well.

That means i can already start on the October run! Those with paid down payments already have priority and i can ship helmets out in advance as soon as i have them in stock.

Also, the large private run won't be pushing through, so now i can accept more slots for the October run.

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

Looks like I'm hanging at the bottom of the list. ;) Let me know when my turn is up. No real rush, but... ya know...

Pm sent

I'd love a 2nd set with your upcoming Phasma parts. Add me again?
Not exactly sure yet when the Phasma parts will be done but we are working on it. Just have to finish prototyping then the casting can begin. So after we ship out your FOTK set, you want another set with the Phasma upgrades?

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

Picking the last 5 sets of the September run tomorrow and can start shipping these out by next tuesday. There's a bit of a delay with the helmets and latch greeblies but these will be ready by next week as well. For those of you in the October run, casting has already started for those of you who paid the downpayment already. Those who haven't paid the 40% yet, don't worry, i'm still holding on to your slots as requested and will instruct them to start casting once DP is received.

Thanks!

Correct. 2nd set with Phasma parts. Please.
Got it! Will you be getting a Phasma helmet as well?

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

@ Somethingsogood - Got it, Thanks!

Ok, for those of you curious about the properties of the flexible fiberglass when mated with rigid fiberglass, i've had my FG guy extend a small piece of armor (spats) by inserting a 1 inch panel of rigid fiberglass. The stuff adheres as normal and blends in as usual with some bondo/body filler. No cracking or separation between joins when the flexing is not directly at the join. However, if you put enough stress exactly at the join, then there will be cracking. So yes, you CAN use regular rigid fiberglass to modify/extend/make wider/ join edges to make smaller etc. Just make sure to make the join at a relatively stress/flex free area.

UPDATE:
I have the last of the September Run sets on hand! I'm just waiting for the latch greeblies (i was told they'd be ready by next Tuesday) then the armor sets will be ready to ship.
We have also started casting the October Run sets, starting with those who paid their DP already. I'm still waiting for the helmets but once i have them on hand, i'll be shipping these in advance of the armor. Or the armor first, whichever i have on hand first. :)

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

OK, Update time!

As of this writing, i have one set ready for shipping, with 5 sets just sitting here waiting for latches. We used to cast one latch at a time, and that's why it takes so long. This time, we're taking a set of 6 large latches and 6 small latches and making new molds so that one pull = one set. Hopefully i can have these all ready by thursday so i can ship these sets out.

Also, we're in the process of updating the mold for the helmet hence the delay in sending these out after your down payments. Rest assured your new helmets will be worth the wait. :)

By this thursday i'll have 5 additional sets on hand (for those of you in the October run) and, if i get enough latch sets that day, some if not all of these will be ready to ship by the end of the week or early next week. Casting is also ongoing for the rest of your orders.

For those of you waiting for Phasma parts:

1) Helmet rough sculpt is almost done.

2) Shin extensions, spats, heel armor and cod piece have been sculpted and are ready for molding. I've decided to mold the Phasma shin extensions separately from the leg so that length can be adjusted to wearer. I've also decided to skip the toe armor as that is supposed to sit flush to the wearer's boots.

3) finger armor and hand plate extension are still in the rough finishing stages.

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

Can you add me to the list?

Sure! Full set or just the armor?

UPDATE: I have 5 sets of the October run on hand. Priority is given to those who paid their DP first. There is a bit of a delay with the helmets as we are still updating the mold. I was supposed to pick up the latch greeblies today as well but was told that the new mold failed to cure properly. Going back for them tomorrow. I hope to have these 5 ready to ship by next tuesday. Casting is ongoing so i'll probably have 5 more sets by thursday next week.

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set

Thought i'd share some pics of the organized chaos in my garage. Have to ship these out soon so i can park my car again. :)

Re: Jimmiroquai's TFA Stormtrooper Armor Set
