Jim Lee New 52 Bat Cowl Sculpt---FIRST PULLS PG 3!

I've loved every other cowl I've seen you put out, and I have to say, par for the course here, the cowl looks fantastic!

Re: Jim Lee New 52 Bat Cowl Sculpt---WIP

If you wouldn't mind sharing some things about this beautiful cowl (great work btw) I would be extremely grateful.
I assume you cast this with plaster with a plaster bandage mothermold?
Was it a 2 piece? How did you cast it (I.e sloshed casting? And how did you minimise flash lines because I can't see a seam at all?
Any information would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks again

I made a two-piece Ultracal mold for this cowl (which is the way I usually do it). I slip cast the latex, usually three coats. There is a seam line, but I managed to have the seam follow some of the edges and/or lines of the sculpt, which helps hide it. I've also had lots of practice at blending seam lines, so I was able to make it less noticeable.

And thanks for the compliments!

I have to say that is one of the best cowls I have seen in quite awhile! Amazing job! If you ever decide to put it up in the junkyard I'd definitely would be interested!

I've been looking for this cowl! Oh man! Put me down for one when it's completed. I'm working on a new 52 Batsuit : )

Oh wow... never been a huge batsy fan but always said if I did the costume it'd be a comic one not one of the movie suits this is MIGHTY tempting....

Man I just came across this thread, awesome work. I do have a question though. How the hell did you get your clay so smooth?

How did you get your sculpt so smooth? Mine has finger marks and is uneven all over the place haha.
