JF Sebastian/Blade Runner inspired light up chess board

When I bought the Blade Runner birds chess set from Hoyles last year, I decided to try and build a decent light up chess board to display it on. I’m happy with how it turned out and thought I’d share it on here. It’s remote controlled, can be dimmed and has 3 tone settings.

Looking good mate, what is the top chequerboard made of? For the light I used a ceiling light panel. Just wired it up to a cable and standard plug. Worked a treat.

It’s fused glass which I made myself from 50mm squares of opal white and vanilla, sitting on top of the original acrylic face, but it’s too small so I’m going to re-make it with the correct border to fit the box..

Excited to see it when lit up. I think you’ve cracked it with the vanilla colour. Might actually try find that colour vinyl and build another board.
