Jet Boot Thrusters

Here are some Jet Boot Thruster like Cad Bane wears. Here are some test of them with REAL model rocket engines in them. Yes, I am a chicken and did not test them while wearing them, but I plan on wearing them next weekend. Here are some videos of the test.

Intro to test:

Test 1:

Test 2:

Those rock. So you couldn't possibly get enough thrust from those engines to actually lift a person, and the boots will protect your legs. So what I'm arguing for is that you've got to wear those and fire them off at some point. No one will ever forget your costume.

You say you're going to wear them?

Where? And you're going to fire them off?

Do you have money for bail?

Seriously, if this is some thing you're doing at a Con or in public, don't.

I am gonna wear them and test them at outside of my shop with 2 people there with fire extinguishers. It is the same place I tested this one. The rocket engines don't have enough thrust to lift my boot off the ground much less me. lol It does look cool though. The only way I would test them in public would be if I had a permit.

Because it is so cool. lol I am making them for a Star Wars Costume. Cad Bane, a bounty hunter has some of these, so I thought i would try to make some. Adding the model rocket engines was an after thought. They are for making videos only.

Here's a harmless alternative. On the R2 units, builders in the club use a can of that pressurized air for cleaning off your keyboard as a fire extinguisher. If you turn it upside down and spray it, a nice white steam comes out. The stuff wouldn't be safe to spray in your face, but it's fine I think to dissipate at foot level. Stick a flexible rubber tube on a couple of cans in your pocket, with the cans flipped upside down. Run tubes down your pants and into the rocket booster bodies, and then spray at will. Cheap, flashy, and no fire or safety dangers.

I am also looking into using C02. But I had to try it with rocket engines just for the fun of it. I mean, they are real model rocket engines, got to have a little danger. LOL
