Really nice, I like what you are doing so far, they look good with the fit and design.
At first I thought the taper on the chest wasn't going to allow it to fit right on the ab, but seeing together it looks like they are a really good fit. I'm really into the form fitting nature of your suit and I think a chest and back that overlap and 'widen' the look to create an artificial taper are really awesome.

Awesome Job man! Love the look of that suit
I think the key thing here is to decide if you want to go for a 501st approval once you're done or do you just want to make a set of 1off armor.
If you go for 501st approval, the only way to go is to follow the deference material 100%. That's not to say you have to follow a single reference material, like the GG bust. If you can find the comic photos and such you can pick elements from those as well to integrate into your final piece. However, you can't take much in the way of your own ideas and integrate them if they modify the way the suit/helmet looks by too much.
A 501st approved set of Jes armor will get more attention and you'll sell more as you will be inviting an entire group of fans who want to play with the 501st to your armor. This is my suggestion, but I"m not you, and you're the creator, so it's up to you
Either way, you are on the right track and I'm eagerly watching![]()
Thank bbmchl me too!Cool project. Well done. Good luck on the helmet. Looking forward to your innovations.
Nice Work...!!! I love what you're doing with this...
Great work oota
now i see why you were interested in my ep 3.5 trooper lid, the main difference between mine and yours is yours maintains more of the stormtrooper detail like the raised area around the eye cutouts.
i did a mock up of my helmet in photo shop and it looked better without.
i'll see if i can find the pictures, they could help.
Looking good! Come comments on how the pieces work in relation to each other....
1. The Buttplate, ends in a abrupt line on the hips. I think it should taper up much more to meet smoothly with the ab/crotch somewhere. From looking at the GG statue, this is done, but I'm not sure about the action figure. I like the aesthetics of the GG bust in this place though, it makes the costume flow, like it's a single unit vs individual pieces.
I think changing the shape of the butt plate might be needed to help with that the next suggestion. SHaped more like this in the GG bust will help to make the pieces fit visually better together.
2. The top of the thighs don't look like they fit in. It looks like they should be taller and curve some more, to fit the form of the crotch and the butt.
Here is a shot of the GG bust that captures the angles and aesthetics I'm referring to.
Kinda small, but you can see the angle on the left hip where the thigh seems like it should fit into that gap.
3. Coverstrips vs clamshell. The GG bust has no seams on the front, like a clone, but if we're trying to go more stormtrooper and less clone... then the coverstips will be a welcome addition to this suit.
4. the backplate... I feel it needs to stick out some more, to help balance with the front that sticks out more compared to a TK. IT seems flat, where the front is more curved. Also, if you're going with the TK style backpack, the gear needs some work as it's not very accurate to the standard TK. The one above looks more like a volcano vs a gear.
