Jedi Holiprojector 3D Print

I have decided that my next 3D print project will be the Jedi holoprojector from The Phantom Menace.

So far I have collected a few reference images, including these screenshots from the movie:



I also have a couple of birds-eye view images of the holiprojector, courtesy of YourProps.com.

However, before I can start working on the 3D model for this thing, I need to figure out the measurements.

Does anyone have any ideas on the outer diameter of the gold ring that makes up the body of the projector?
