Jedi Archives Holobooks

I'm looking for any reference or info anyone has on the holobooks from the Jedi Archives.
I've always liked the visual of the glowing spines but was never sure what they would look like or how they work.
They were seen scattered around in the new Jedi Survivor game and the Jedi Adventures animated series.
I was able to grab some pics from the show.
In the cartoon, they look like they're inspired by 80's electronic books for very young children.

I have never seen anything, either in Legends or Disney era stuff that shows what they look like. I'm pretty sure that library scene in AOTC was a miniature model set that was just lighted walls.
