Just finished this and wanted to show it off. It's not 100% accurate but I'm really happy with it.

Cant you just buy these? I believe it's a British medal.

The one in the film was obviously and poorly hand made. I've tried to capture that look (it's harder than you'd think :lol ) but it may have been based on a real medal. Do you have any more info? I'd love to see the real deal

The ribbon is based on a real medal. However, the metal part is called an Ethiopian Cross, which as you might guess is an "traditional" import/souvenir sort of thing made in Ethiopia. So, yes, it looks roughly hand-made - that's because it was. At least originally.

And I can't find any pictures right now, but the ribbon comes from a WWII British 1939/1945 Service Medal.

By the way - you did a great job of re-creating it yourself. If I hadn't known, I would have guessed it to be one of the ones from a site like this'n.
