....who makes the best one?
or can you even get a really good one? all i've seen are bad resin versions.

any info would be appreciated.
thanks :)

Ive yet to see anyone make a near accurate replica. Once work dies down, if there is interest, I could see about calling in a favor.

I've been waiting on one and all my attempts at a semi accurate version have failed

I haven't seen a decent recreation of this one yet either. Seems like one of those pieces that looks easy until you get in to recreating it.

Those are photos of the screen used gun taken at ISS where it was made, and I believe they were shared by Jason Eaton here, a few years back. Could be mistaken, it's been a while.

Howdy, just throwing my two cents in here but it looks like a modified Kimar 911. Would be a solid base for anyone looking to make one of their own me thinks. :)

A few details I see right off the bat...

Colt Combat Commander pattern hammer
Smith and Alexander Magwell
The checkering on the frontstrap (front of the grip) is actually a drop-in metal strip that you secure under the grip panels.

I did this one a few years ago. As far as I know it's the only one that's been done using a metal base gun. unfortunately at the time there was no 100% accurate metal replica of the colt- the one I have has a thicker grip to accommodate a Co2 cartridge. I never was happy with the shroud and some other details either due to the limitations of styrene. (I even had it up for possible sale a couple times, but interest in BDM props isn't very high, lol.)

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new metal airsoft and having a conversion kit 3d printed (and perhaps offering them)... just haven't gotten around to doing the modeling. But if Rob could mold the original as separate parts in his masterful meta-resin method (like with the Eastwood revolver)... oh... wow!

Far, far from perfect, but as I said... the only metal replica I know of...

That would be cool!

And BTW, whatever happened to your idea of casting the sonic weapon?

The Sonic would have been a massive undertaking to do proper. That vs the intereest, it just wasnt there.
