Well, I saw it and... It wasn't the best movie ever, but it was entertaining. It revisited some of the bits from the first film which, honestly, I didn't find funny the first time around. But I haven't always been on board with some stuff Smith and Co. find funny.

I thought it would be a long haul sitting through two movies, but they dovetailed together well, and it wasn't overwhelming. Overall? I enjoyed it.

I bought tickets to the Reboot Road Show in November, so I'll wait and see it then. I'm looking forward to meeting the Dynamic Duo and watching the flick with a Q&A session at the end.

yeah I’ve been to so many QnA’s I bailed on this one.
I can only take so many “can you read my script?” Questions and people wanting to hear the same stories as they saw on “evening with”
I live in Vancouver (Hollywood North) so a lot of film guys thinking “this will be my chance!”

Yeah, I'm a big fan and Kevin pretty much says the same stuff over and over. I listen to Fatman Beyond and I usually bail at the part of the show where they take audience questions. So I totally get why you would pass. I'll be seeing this in Chattanooga. So I hope he doesn't get asked too many of the "can you read my script?" type questions. I also get tired of the "which super hero or comic would remake?" type questions. While I'm not really looking forward to the audience stuff, this is my first chance at seeing KS live. That's really what I'm looking forward to.

I drove to Vulgarthon for the Chasing amy 20th anniversary... on that Q and A I'm actually sitting beside the microphone for the guys asking questions. my eye-rolling is imortalized on blu-ray.

The worst I was at was at an "Evening with" in Vancouver and they opened it to Vancouver Film School... after the 5th "can you read my script?" Kev just announced "if anyone has a script of vid they are hoping for me to look at, just throw em up on stage and lets get it out of the way"

The shower of tapes, scripts and DVD's was so embarassing... just soaring through the air and onto the stage.

His wife afterwards said the film students treated her like crap while she ripped tickets (not knowing it was her)

ALL THAT SAID...

I'm jealous you're going, and would've gone if I wasn't near the end of a work contract and buckling down in case of time off....

Tonight will be interesting as it's just at a local theater, one screening... will it be packed?

I was in Walmart yesterday and it's already out on video. I think the roadshow event for my area (Baltimore) isn't even happening until Februray! Odd.

Blu-Ray and DVD have the same features and are the same price so you have your choice.

Thanks for the tip!

Tried to watch it on the plane, couldn’t finish it.

Felt like a parody of a Kevin Smith movie made by someone who doesn’t like Kevin Smith movies.

Finally got around to watching it on disc. The wife and I both liked it, though we're predisposed to as big fans of Kevin. It felt a little low production value compared to the OG Jay and Bob film, but we were there for the callbacks and weren't disappointed. It was also fun to watch film's biggest stoner grow up a little bit. Despite it's goofiness and foul humor the film has some heart.

Loved the first one but this one was very disappointing. Almost making fun of the first. To manymovies are using the "Look I have a kid I didn't know about" This movie, Dumb and Dumber To, etc, and it's just not good story telling. I wanted to like it but was really let down on all of it. Sorry Kevin. Still a fan but not of this.

I finally got to sit down and watch this film. It took 3 sittings because it was very hard to get into.

I have enjoyed most all of the Askewniverse films. Sadly, this one felt like it was made by people who don’t get their humor, yet it was the same people who made and acted in all of them. I don’t know if that was intentional since it was called a reboot, but surprised this was actually pretty terrible.

I felt like the joke was on me for even watching it. Smith is usually really great with the Jay and Silent Bob movies, but I just got the vibe that he doesn’t want to do these films anymore and made an effort to make it not very good.

Geeze this pains me to say because I genuinely love the other films. I laughed at a few parts, but yeah.... overall extremely disappointed.

The only reason it got made was because he wanted to make it. There certainly wasn't any studio calling for it to happen. IIRC he had to go out and find financing for it and everything.

Yea. Part of getting financing was that he knew he'd be able to pay off every investor in the first year, by doing the road show. He already knew what fans would pay for the two of them to just show up and talk, so could use that to show that the movie+q&a would cover them. Then the rest was gravy.

I saw it. It was fun. That's good enough for me.

He definitely wants to do these films still, as he has already announced that Clerks 3 and Mallrats 2 are going to be made after all.
