Well, it finally happen. A piece of garbage( Jason Rice) lied about recieving a model I sold to him and scammed the system at Paypal. He recieved both his money and the Starfighter kit that I sell. I am putting this out so that no one else sells him anything and to be warned about the crap he pulled. I probably will get my money back via Paypal but it is a long process.

If this guy is a member here then call him out as others may be getting scammed right now. I would also call him out on the main prop forum to get maximum coverage.

Sorry to hear about this.

Chris.

Oh man that sucks big time I'm sorry to hear that. I would also be interested in knowing his screen name here too.

I always ship FedEx requiring a signature so they can't pull that stunt. I've found the USPS's tracking system isn't all that good, with UPS or FedEx you can find out exactly where the package is at any given time of the day and it will email you when the package gets there and show who signed for it. The only time I use USPS is to ship overseas, never domestically.

Good call REL might start using FEDEX or UPS. I am starting to get delivery confiramation on all my stuff now. I hope this guy comes through. He called me like 4 times in a week wanting to know if it had shipped as we were waiting for the E check to clear. Once it cleared I shipped and the next day he pulled the paypal. George is a great guy to deal with and ever since he has started working with me we have knocked out orders in the right amount of time. Sorry about this one George, I hope we at least get the claim.

Steve

Post hte name here and every other model and prop forum out there...

and in the future use delivery confirmation...

Send him a polite e-mail stating that you are sorry that the post office lost the kit, and that he had to file a claim to paypal.

Let him know that TOMMOROW, you are going to talk to your local postmaster about filing a claim for the lost kit (Since you insured it), and the post office will investigate. Let him know that the post office takes thier job very seriously, and lost/stolen mail is investigated.

And oh yes, that mail fraud is a federal offence.

:D

I hate hate hate to play "Devil's Advocate," but...

Shipping services have been known to deliver to the wrong addy and STILL mark it as "delivered to recipient." It's happened to folks I know, although not w/ USPS.

Just an FYI, nada mas....

:thumbsup

That did happen to me via Fed Ex once. I hope you guys get the money back, that is pretty crappy of this guy to do that to you both.

still immediately snapping to a paypal dispute-refund is bad form...

That is a BIG red flag of guilt right there.
I would immediately notify the Postmaster about this because this is Mail Fraud. A FELONY.
This is serious and the U.S. Postal Service takes these things seriously. You need to let the Postmaster at your local Post Office know about it.
Once the United States Postal Inspectors get called in to investigate the case they will ream the guy a new a-hole if found guilty.

Jesse sent me one of his Vipers and it never got to me, though the USPS said it did. We don't usually have trouble with stuff on the porch being stolen, but now I always ask folks to send packages to me signature-required just to be safe.

(Jesse was kind enough to send me another and we split the cost.)

There is unfortunately another problem no one has mentioned. There are theives in every profession. This includes delivery services and yes the USPS.

In my childhood I met a postal worker that used to brag about the stuff he stole from the post office. I know from news reports this occurs even with the TSA.

Such things are hard to prove unless you catch the people red-handed. You can never catch them unless you exercise your rights and have it investigated.

Personally, I would not name someone until I knew he was the guilty party.

Oh, I know he is guilty. Period. Jason will not return my calls. Will not return Steve's calls. Anything else need to be said?
The post office has been sent the info and they are doing a "full" investigation.
