I enjoyed all of the Bourne movies. Never like DC as Bond, so for me that's a moot point as to how that franchise is doing. Bourne didn't have as many little techno baubles that Bond did, making it a wee bit more believable. I also enjoyed the plots more than the typical "I'm going to take over da world" plot of almost every Bond movie.

To be fair, there hasn't been a "Take over the world" Bond plot since...geez...Moonraker, actually. The closest you get to that in the modern era is Tomorrow Never Dies, which was less about taking over the world, and more about creating the news by manipulating the world. Actually, most of the Bond movies since Roger Moore have been about smaller stories.
The Living Daylights -- about a corrupt arms dealer and spy.
Licence to Kill -- James Bond seeks revenge against a drug dealer.
Goldeneye -- Ransoming England with a satellite laser cannon.
Tomorrow Never Dies -- Rupert Murdoch clone wants to trigger a war with China because it'll boost circulation of his papers.
The World is Not Enough -- Oil tycoon tries to destroy Istanbul with a stole nuclear weapon to stop a competing oil pipeline.
Die Another Day -- Insane North Korean colonel wants to use orbital death cannon to vaporize the demilitarized zone and forcibly take South Korea
Casino Royale -- Quantum agent tries to win at cards. Bond tries to stop him.
Quantum of Solace -- Bond seeks revenge against Quantum, which is backing a project in Central America to try and monopolize water within a region.
Skyfall -- Bond faces off against a burned former agent determined to destroy MI-6 and have his revenge.
Even if you go back to Roger Moore's later years, you have smugglers duking it out over an encryption system, mad generals trying to trigger World War III, and a loony ex-KGB genetic experiment trying to knock California into the sea.
If anything, I'd say the Bond films have been much heavier on "Mad industrialist is willing to slaughter millions to achieve narrow, self-interested aims" as a trope. And the Craig era has been all over the place, plot-wise.
With Bourne, it's always pretty much "Jason Bourne has been found by U.S. agents, and must go on the run to escape them. Frantic editing ensues."

Sadly, the movie was disappointing. I love the first three films, but this just seems like a forced repackage.

Getting tired of a higher official having an alterior motive that wants Bourne dead. And then having someone from the inside trying to help him. You would think they could come up with another story after ten years.

My best friend saw it and he loved it. To be honest though he has horrid taste in movies :lol
Considering how far they deviated from the original book and even the Richard Chamberlain tv movie I'm not shocked they just reused the same scenario over and over again.
The ending of the movie was the only entertaining bit because it sequel baited with the promise of following up on the same plot again.

Just watched this movie for the first time the other day. I was entertained by it, but also a bit underwhelmed. To start, the title...why such a bland, non-Bourne title? What about The Bourne Discovery? Or something like that. The main fight was very generic, no signature improvised-weapon method of combat. And while I'm on the subject, I'm tired of all this shakey cam bull****, why can't they just keep the damn camera still? They can do it handheld and still have it look kinetic instead of violently shaking the camera to get it to look the way it does. Also, the Bourne from the original trilogy would never have gone for Nicky until he was absolutely sure it was safe to do so. Aside from those things, it was a mostly decent entry in the franchise. I hope if/when there is a sequel they go back to what made the originals great. Also, going back to the original naming conventions would be nice.
