My son is just now deciding on his Halloween costume, since the Store bought costume doesn't come with a Jetpack and I don't want the inflatable one, I was wondering if anyone has any tips for a quick and easy Jet pack that won't look too lame. Thanks in advance!

Pizza box cardboard and hot glue. Won't last super long, but it's light weight. Corrugated may be even lighter, but pizza box is much smoother.

What is your budget in terms of money and working hours? I did a search for the inflatable jetpack and it seems to cost somewhere between 14-18 dollars. The materials that I'd use for such a project wouldn't fit perfectly in that budget but on the other hand I'm a perfectionist and this is by your own admission not meant to be perfect, just above lame.

I'd say you can make a very nice jetpack for your son using cardboard, some styrene shapes, a hot glue gun, paper machier and some spray paint. Maybe some Velcro straps to keep it in place would be nice too.

My advice if you don't want to make it by exact blueprint is to create the back plate first, attaching the center cylinder after that and adding details in order of size after this. That way the big silhouette is going to be there even if you run out of time.

The rocket could be made from a stick with styrene cones stuck on. I've seen someone make the big cylinders with covered soup cans of the right size. The hexagonal and square covers can be made by scoring and folding cardboard and the rounded forms can be made by cutting styrene balls or using wood buttons found in craft stores.
Cover this with a pair of layers of paper machier to remove the big seams and to create a better surface to paint. After that you spray it and add any detailed work with a paintbrush if you want.

I'm going out the door as I'm writing this, so it's not the most comprehensive guide. If you want more ideas or help then bring up any troubles in the thread.

I made both Fett jetpacks years ago with cardboard and some random odds and ends I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Jango's jetpack is actually a bit easier than Boba's, the rockets would be easier to duplicate. I also hot glued some elastic to each shoulder for straps, turned out pretty good for a cheap, quick fix. I thought I had the templates, they are out there online somewhere, but I can't find them any more. This was way before I knew what pepakura was. jango.jpg
(This is not a picture of what I made, it is Jango's jetpack from Star Wars Wiki, mine wasn't this cool)

I think you just have to watch the movies and decide which one matches up best I guess.
The one with the rocket is from the first fight in episode 2, and the one without it is from the arena battle. The first one seen in my post above was destroyed during the fight and was replaced by the second one, the one in tauriices post.

Both are canon and go with the same overall outfit that he wears in the movie. That one didn't seem to change between the two confrontations.
I'd say that the second one is probably easier to make (less stuff to add and less colors to paint) but it's far less iconic than the first one.
The first one is more like the one Boba's using in the originals, but the different paint job makes it stand out, so no one will think it's actually Boba Fett and not Jango.

hello.. this was made with a smart water bottle ($2), a ton of craft foam ($5), paper mache cones ($2), craft paint ($5) and a ton of hot glue. I also used random items from my garage like PVC tube from sprinkler repairs($0) Took me a couple days but came out pretty good for what it is.
