Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

Hey guys RED DRAGON did a cool thing and made up this scale chart!

5'=152cm -----------391.7295774545455
5'1=155cm-----------399.4610822727273
5'2=157cm-----------404.6154188181819
5'3=160cm-----------412.3469236363637
5'4=162cm-----------417.5012601818182
5'5=165cm-----------425.232765
5'6=168cm-----------432.9642698181819
5'7=170cm-----------438.1186063636364
5'8=173cm-----------445.8501111818182
5'9=175cm-----------451.0044477272728
5'10=178cm----------458.7359525454546
5'11=180cm----------463.8902890909091
6'=183cm-------------471.621793909091
6'1=185cm-----------476.7761304545455
6'2=188cm-----------484.5076352727273
6'3=190cm-----------489.6619718181819
6'4=193cm-----------497.3934766363637
6'5=196cm-----------505.1249814545455
6'6=198cm-----------510.2793180000001

I checked my height and so far its correct :) But again just to be safe i would still measure the parts separately (Chest-Abs-Cod together; Thigh-Shin-Boot together; etc.) and see if the scale matches up to your bodys measurements (as said before, everyones body is different so with one entire scale of lets say 463.8902890909091, the body may fit but the legs might not however on another person it could fit perfectly)

(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

It still depends on which unfolds

good point what will be the best way to scale each part of the suit? does this chart apply to these individuals pieces. 6 ft going for a tad loose fit 36 inch waist pm me anyones tip helps i got material today!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

heres an idea i got from im3 i am building the suit to fit over a insulated long johns, comfortable clothing, if you wanna know why well i am going for the suit up feel for electromagnetics for the prototype. your long johns are wired in a points to align and turn the iron cores or lift magnets on and regular neodymium magnets plotted inside the armor pieces, you may have to section the pieces to be more lightweight for the magnets to pulls a foot away or more if possible cool huh? i share this idea with yall cuz we could at least try this out right. help me out on the scale so i can get to work! plus i believes we are a team.

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

plus i ll have a vaccum forming machine for plastic versions as well as a welder, soldering gun, glue gun, xacto knives etc. so eventually i ll might get into metal

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

2.54 cm = 1 inch . figure out the hint was in the thread when you divide the parts individually, measure the width or height of the chest for example or abs and convert to cm to help scaling

so my unfolds would fit a 5'11" person :) . .i usually base my scale of all parts in height. . .

---------------------------------------

anyway. . jackieisrockin i'm converting my unfolds of your files for .pdf for those who want them, is that ok? i'm on the process of converting them now and i might finish it tonight, if it's ok then i'll post a link for it :)

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

sweeet so in a way i was right the shin needs to be the same as the boot and the thigh the same as the shin ? because if so then my scales in the 300's chart but im 5'6 buddy ?

Again the boot can kinda be on its own scale so if it fits you then i suppose its ok :)

It still depends on which unfolds

Although some unfolds are at different scales, that doesnt mean that its the scale it will be when made. If a thigh is unfolded at (for example) 328.156152 and the shin is unfolded 432.159656 but your scale is 441.125245, all you have to do is scale them both to 441.125245. Its that simple :)

5'11=180cm----------463.8902890909091

Sure sounds good to me :) That way the Mac users have a chance at making this as well :)

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

I was told a few months ago from another build that when you have the original scale and height, in this case 5'5=165cm-----------425.232765

Then divide the scale by the height (425.232765 % 165=2.577168272727273)
Then times this by your height so if your 5'9"/175cm (2.577168272727273 x 175=451.0044477272727)

And this gives you your scale but like jackie said ALWAYS double check! use the measuring tool.
Hope this helps you all :)
And i wouldnt use a set scale for the boot or helmet defo use the measuring tool .

For the helmet I measured the height and its 22cm = 220mm when i put it in the pepakura it puts out this scale ? 30.346368
(used on mark 8 helmet a4 by gimpee)

Thanks Red, this is helpful for us building for children...

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

Oh my god, I thought I was screwed for a moment, Id found a decent scale (like 443) and ive printed out ALL of these files inverted and normal apart from abs and chest

Looked at that chart and thought CRAP! im 6'1 and im building a 5'8 suit :mad:
After making one of the forearms I lucked out, because its perfect and turns out I have a longer torso so YAY!

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

hey jackie im half way through my first shin will have pics up soon hopefully :)

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

Hang on... I'm building the chest, abs, and cod at 553, but they fit me perfectly. I'm 6'1, but according to the chart I'm building more for someone that's 7'1!

I'm skinny too, so I'm a little skeptical of this chart.

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

yea that also depends
cause im 5,5 feet tall but im really skiny

Re: Jackieisrockin's Iron Man Mk 42 Pepakura Files! New Info added to first post!

I'll upload a few pics of my 2nd pep work - The forearm

Im just about to resin this but I still need to pep the inside of the forearm, so please no one say ive made it too big :p
