I wanted to share a little picture I received....

    Hi Everyone.

I finally finished my Jack Goodman paint up and built a torso style base for him :D
I have found it very hard to photo red... this looks much more bloody in real life? In the photos the blood looks a little too orange...

I also threw in a few photos of the bust by itself before I built the torso.

Benn waiting patiently to see this. THe torso set up is outstanding. Love the depth on the gore elements... Well done -- very realistic.

The blood on the jacket TOTALLY sells it.

I know the whole "hair versus no hair" debate, but man if that had real hair I'd swear it just came out of a morgue.

Awesome Howard. I run out of things to say about your work man.

This picture especially looks great to me:

I love all the detail that went into this. Rick must have a huge smile on his face.

By the way -- the blood does not look too orange. You can tell there's some yellow in there, but its the perfect amount...

    Thanks again Guys.

The blood was done in about 4 layers... first I went in and painted a very dark, almost burgundy layer for a base... then I went in and added some lighter areas and started getting things to pop out. The final touches are a Tamiya Clear Red, which really should be called blood red and then I went into the middle areas with just plain clear to give everything a wet and nasty bloody look ;)
I also did the boney areas with a bone like yellow with clear mixture of blood to cover that for the movie look.

    Simply awesome.
Man you could even do a darker more dead skin version that is inbetween this and the skeletal version with a simple paint job.
    Massively great.

Tamiya clear red is the wrong color IMHO for blood on a smaller scale figure. I think it works fine on 1/1. You also have to remember that he wasn't terribly bloody in most of the scenes. I seem to remember Rick Baker wanting to pour blood all over him and John Landis saying not to.

Did you buy the jacket and then cut it up or was it custom made?

    Thanks again Guys.

Yes Clutch, your 100% correct :) I already have people telling me they think I didn't put enough blood on him, but his face itself was very light and that's what took me so long about this one, I went in with all my screen cap reference and tried to match it... so it's light on the skin areas. The jacket is so bloody in the movie, I wonder if Rick did the make-up first and had to take some off Griffins face?

I bought a new shirt and jacket and just wrapped the ends under the torso at the base. One note... never cut a down jacket, it was VERY messy :confused I had to fix the cuts on the jacket to keep the feathers from getting everywhere and just cut the shirt up for his left side gash :)
