I painted it.
The thing came in two pieces , I just put them together.
There was plenty of workhours put in to make the two parts match, the paintjob was only about twelve hours.
I agree about the green, it´s always to dark i think, so I was careful there :cool

IMO, this character doesn't work as a bust, but this looks good.

The bust is too small, but the paintjob is top notch. Well done.

My suggestion would be to display this on a black base, a 100% different contrast to the greens and yellows on his skin texture.

On the base you have now, it kinda looks like a sad little worm, or a mis-displayed costume instead of a bust. Ditch the fabric portion.

Isolate the bust and display it for what is is, I think you'll see it improves the look right away.

I think you´re right about displaying him in black, I think I´ll give that a try.

Regarding size, I was told he is 1:1 scale, he´s really big.
What do you guys think of his size?

I agree that the bust is too small. Assuming the other busts behind him are 1:1, its obvious he needs to be bigger.

Great job on the paint.
The scene with his licking his lips when Leia is shoved near his mouth might be a good was to figure out his head size (given that someone has an idea of her head size- she isn't very big) But I agree it looks about half-size to me. But then again on the big screen he was huge.:love
A great idea for a bust. Seem like it would be easier to sculpt then a human head but maybe that is just my non-sculpting experience talking.:rolleyes

It might be a little small, but not as bad as I think it first looks.... having it sitting down below the others definately dwarfs it - and ONLY having his head makes the illusion that he's smaller than he is...

maybe when it was sculpted it was intended as a "costume" head...?

In fairness its not that far off-
Check out the height between the nostril and the 'chin' on the screen Jabba, and leia's head height ( which has been said she's tiny)
Then compare it to Palpatine's in the back of his shot.
I think the chin cut away area on his sculpt ends more abruptlyto where the screen version might do the same, so the head appears small.
Miles better than the CG version, nice one !
