Otherwise I would have given up a LONG time ago.
Okay, I posted some teaser shots of the set in my Tinelord thread, knowing good and well that the console was ALREADY rejected. Mike, our director told me to build (YET) another one. He had valid reasons, he did like the last one I did, but had very specific reasons as to why he wanted a new one.
This is the fourth one I've built now. Still, he wanted it to be smaller than a classic console, but still look more like a classic console, with a bit of updating.
So, this one is six sided, but four feet in diamteter.
You will see that one of the panels is flat, not raised. That is for a reason. And I will FINALLY spill the beans. When I got the script, it called for one of the companions to be an android, well, almost an android, that is. His name is K.R.O.G.E.R. I will let the Doctor tell you what that stands for when you watch the movie. Hehehehehe! Anyway, the script called for Kroger to be nothing more than a head, mounted directly into the console. The first and second consoles I built had it, but Mike decided that he didn't like it, so on the third he told me to make Kroger a flat green screen panel, and the android face would be animated on it. So I did. Last Sunday when he made me start over again I said to myself, "Self, K.R.O.G.E.R. is going BACK on the console. The android head is realy cool (In my opinion) so that is what the flat panel is for. I should get some time tomorrow to really build it up. I should have the panels all in place tomorrow, and ready to dress them Sunday. We're building the stand on the set.
Enjoy.
