Is this a fake Un0btainium Noisy Cricket?

Hi all,
I just purchased a what I thought was an Unobtainium Noisy Cricket for MIB2 off Ebay.

My main concern is the build quality is very poor are there any good pics around to compare? I'll post images later (battery just died!) Ideal photos would be side on and front and rear.

Also any advice what I do if this is a fake bought from Ebay, do they care?

Cheers,

Flipside.

Here are the images of the item:
It also came with certs and plaques that look pretty real but not 100% sure. The cert claims it is item no: 0464.

that one looks plated not machined alu as it should so i don't think its genuine

If the seller claimed it was from Unobtainium and it isn't- you should file a dispute with ebay and Paypal. You should be able to select something along the lines of "item received was not as described".

However I would contact the seller first. They might allow you to return it for a refund. If their attitude is "too bad for you" then file the dispute.

It looks more like an original Icons Casting which was Pewter plated Nickel, I have one and yours looks almost identical...

That is definitely NOT an Unobtainium. They were machined and polished aluminum.

That looks like an original Icons (or a casting of it). The Icons were cast metal, chrome plated. Hence the bumpy, rough "organic" look.

The Unobtanium replica is larger and much sharper in detail than the Icons.

Nope. I agree...contact the seller first BEFORE filng a claim. It may be able to be resolved easily withoit ticking the seller off and turning into a fight.

Ditto..probably ICONS.

UNOBTANIUM. No way.

I saw everyone they made on a table when I picked mine up....THAT Aint it.

From the looks of it I would say it's a recast of a ICONS piece, looks too rough to be an original ICONS. Good luck.

Yea, not a ubo, I don't have pics on me to compare, at the hospital, wife's having a baby!!! But I agree it's proboly a icons recast, like Steve said the ubotanium ones are very clean precision cut pieces, do you have pics of the plaque and cert? Cause I know redshirt was selling jut the plaques and displays awhile back, maybe they used them and put it with the piece you have, just a thought

That's the dilemma....how many pieces like that one will appear with Unobtainium COA and stand but the Cricket won't be original ??? I also see so many MR Artist Proof plaques selling with COA and without the replica itself.....From where does all that plaques and COA come from ??? Real or fake ?

Ditto..probably ICONS.

The Icons was a replica from the 1st MIB...Unobtainium was a replica from MIB 2.....not the same models !!!

There were a few assembled from old Icons parts by another member. I bought one as an original Icons only to find out it was just left over parts. Mine also has the red wires inside and rough finish.

Icons origin, but made from left over parts.

I bought this one off eBay two months ago.

The seller said it was an old Sidkit, but I don't remember Sidkit ever selling these.

Nice piece - all metal and quite heavy.

Bump for curiosity - anyone else have a Sidkit Noisy Cricket (or remember these being sold)?

I don't remember him doing one either and I checked the Internet Archive Wayback Machine and didn't see any pages from his site that mentioned a Cricket.

Pretty sure i recall Siderio selling Noisy Cricket kits, alongside the ROTJ Scout Blaster and Deckard Blaster. Im going back a fair while though, way before any of the UKARA acts. in the UK.
