Is it in any way possible to gain access to Disney's prop department?

Hello. I'm headed down to Florida next week for a week long DisneyWorld vacation and the thought crossed my mind. So, is it possible to get permission to tour the prop department and examine the props they have in storage and are currently making? I'm interested in the props from several of their films, but mostly from the Pirates of the Caribbean films. So, does anyone here know where they keep all this stuff and if it is possible to get a reservation to gain permission to enter and look around as I have stated before? Thank you in advance for your replies :) !

The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations.

It's not you, bro, we're just making refererence to an individual a LONG time ago who broke in to Paramount studios TNG set and acting silly, which he recorded and is now on youtube. :lol
Anyhow, sorry to derail your thread.
Seriously, just ask if you can. What's the worst that could happen? They could say no.

How IS my hair.

Fine.

And I don't mean "it looks okay", I mean "fine" as in thin, straggly and barely there!

Just going in the front door and asking to poke around NEVER works :) Best to try and find someone who would have access and ask if you could tag along with them.

Actually, I was considering asking an official there on what the best route would be. I'm sure they could find me a way :) lol

In all seriousness, let's stop with the jokes (that I started :redface). Poor guy has a legitimate question I I derail this thread into the 5:00 comedy hour.

I truly believe this would be an extremely difficult evolution to achieve.

1. It pays to know someone in the prop department to get you exclusive backstage passage.

2. Not everyone is going to let your average Joe walk into a prop area and expect complete or limited access.

3. Most of the POTC props are most likely here in Los Angeles/Hollyweird so being in Floriday may not help you much.

4. Check out Disney Public Relations area in Florida and see if you can speak to someone.

Which POTC props are you interested in? I have numerous pics from the El Capitan theater that I took over the last two movies.

Also if you make it out to LA next year the Fashion Institute of Design FIDM Museum will be displaying some of the movie props and costumes. Still waiting to hear from them regarding the schedule but supposedly it will be in the first quater of 2008!

16th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design

Showing January 28 through April 12, 2008 will be costumes from films of 2007, including Academy Award® nominees for best costume.
Viewing times for the free exhibition will be Monday through Saturday, 10:00am until 5:00pm. The Galleries will be closed Easter Weekend, March 21 through 23.
