Is anybody interested in a "business" partnership...?

actually... I have had an idea... I don't know if i want to share it yet, but i can say that was a sort of "van helsing" with a little more steampunk in it and a "lovecraftian" flavor... I don't know how good it could be, but...:unsure

yes.

well lets get some ideas thrown out for main characters and main bad guys... also any powers, any gifts from god or any story lines... if we get some good ideas then a few of us with a gift of 'movie' story telling can get a story going.;.. also maybe we can get this thread to stick so we can keep a good track of it. once this gets under way Ramiel can delegate out areas to get prepared for filming...

As much as I would like to this idea into a movie (or a miniseries like "the lost room" so to speak), I don't think we could work it out... I mean, we could, but it will be quite impractical because we (the forum members) are from all over the world, and the people that could be interested in make even a "trailer" out of it, could be few and located far from each other, so I don't think it's so doable as a project...
But still... I have some ideas already set, like the mood/look of it, some characters, some goals, some locations and costumes, and things like these... The main character for example, I'm not sure about the name yet, but the idea for him was a sort of "agent" sent here and there to hunt down evil creatures because he has those "supernatural" powers (actually he's just stronger, faster and get hurt less than a normal human, but at the end we will discover why), and so he's the natural choice for this job, and it also comes natural for him, of course this is quite a stereotype and this thing isn't that original, but I was thinking at something easy to start with, especially for the "audience" because the plot thickens during the story... A lot.:wacko

The world is a sort of victorian/medieval world, filled with steampunk technology (airships, giant machines, you know... All that stuff... Iron and steam all around...:)), everything seems to be set during an endless dusk... Often cloudy...

And this guy is the classic "anti-hero", the "lone wolf", not really friendly (you know, when you are a freak you tend to have few friends...:p)
Anyway, I was developing this idea mostly as a comic book/graphic novel story that I don't know if will ever see the light of the day so I didn't really spent too much time on the "originality" of these characters yet, they were all stereotypes so far... And like I usually do, I based the look of the main character on... Me! (sorry:D)

Well, imagine him, with a long, brown, leather coat over all this and with more weapons (two knives on the back of his belt, two guns, one on each leg and a big sword on his back)...

I wish I could have more time to tell you more, but I'm really busy these days, I think I will have to wait till the christmas holydays to breath again!:lol

i think it would be possible.. .if we find the one person who knows how to set up and film the short/trailer. we have him/her set it up, get the actors, finish the script and, get all the propes sent to that location.
its possible... and VERY interesting

I can take new pics, but I've not made any casts yet... So, no real updates (But I have to, since I have to make that costume sooner or later...)
I really need to try to make a silicon mold for the parts and cold cast it in aluminium or resin and "rub 'n buff" it...:unsure

:lol
I love the appreciation, too bad I can't reply with updates myself... (Damn real-life! Sooner or later I will live in my own imaginary world... No bills, a lot of free time, superpowers, and some naked chicks, because never hurts to have naked chicks... Hot chicks of course...:D)
[thinking]Hmmm I have to check if I have some old works that is worth posting here...[/thinking]
;)

Seriously, thanks for the interest Hermes!:cool:thumbsup

Alright, alright, everybody had a month off for the holidays. Y'all need to get back to inspiring us. Make 2009 the best year this thread ever had.

Wow! Simply amazing. I've just read through all 74 pages of this topic.

I am VERY impressed by all I've seen. I especially love the steampunk designs. I wish I had something to contribute, but all I have are ideas. I don't have much prop making skills. (I'm working on my costuming skills mostly.) Still, I love this topic and all the great ideas, concepts, and work that I've seen here.

Speaking of costumes.... Ramiel, do you have any other drawings of that character you posted a while back? Assuming you feel comfortable showing us more. I'm intrigued by his jacket and pants. Specifically, the way the jacket clasps off to one side, and the way the pants are buttoned in the front. Looks like a two button flap-thing.

Great work everyone. Again, simply amazing!

Ramiel, Say I plan on starting the sculpt for this mask soon ,

I already have the flight cap and have plotted out some details but I 'm wondering if this character is Good guy or Bad guy ?
Also how do you see the rest of the character fashion wise.

I remember I did it as a concept for a mask/helmet weared by an army (infantry) of bad guys... The rest of the outfit should be a mix of a Victorian (british) soldier and an explorer of the same period, all of that using only browns and tan as the main colors (iron and brass for the "fittings")... I'll try to dig out some concept ASAP:)

...but the pants are basically a loger version of these breeches: http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/smokespoon72/breechBrow.JPG

Ah, I was way off then. I had imagined something like this:
Pants001.jpg

(Forgive my hand writing. I think it looks sloppy, but I can read it.) :p

Congrats Ramiel. After nearly 5 years, you've managed to get me to draw again. (I used to be somewhat good.)

Anway, this is what I had imagined the pants to resemble. Oh, also in the top left corner is a rough drawing of the clasps. Based on the photo you've posted, I figured it looked like that. The rectangle is permanently attached to one side of the jacket, and a small flap of leather is pulled across to the other side of the jacket where there is a brass "arrow" shape that has a button-snap attached under neath. The jacket flap has the matching button snap. Does that make sense? I'm good at figuring things out in my head, but I have difficulty explaining things to other people.
