Is anybody interested in a "business" partnership...?

More rayguns:

The more I think about weapons, the more I think they're not best suited to a first project.

They're rather large and complex. Perhaps a small object, like the scarab, would be a better choice?

Sith, I like the 3rd, 4th and 5th modified 1911 and the second raygun... :)
Also I think that an 'interesting list' before a small run of props could be the best idea (a pic of a finished prototype, a possible cost for the kit and a list of names to fill, like the minority report balls of Jmtwo).
And, John, like Mike said: "you have some cool toys"... Indeed :D

Personally I'm really fond of that scarab, it was the main "prop" in the first story written with my friend and writer of our first comic (never finished), so if I could have that scarab in my hands (a couple of them to be honest) I would be more than happy (and I will have a very happy friend too... :) ).

I think we can start doing a kit of the sci-fi gun, maybe with a base and plaque (I will think about them) when the prototype is done (so we can "test" our audience, if there is enough interest... On the prop boards and maybe, also on eBay...), what do you think? Is it doable for you?

As always, thank you for the HUGE help guys. ;)

Yes very doable on this first gun. It's a pretty straighforward design and I'm thinking a simple one piece resin kit. I'm willing to front the moldmaking and casting on this one, even if there are not many takers in the end. This will be our test case of working together, then other people will get a good idea of the process we use, from your conceptual drawings, up to the finished kit, base, plaque, etc.

I think I can keep the price point fairly low on this design, and that might spark further interest once it's done.

I've been meaning to mention, that I think the scarab is an awesome design and I would love to work on it as well. Have you ever worked out the mechanics of how it opens? Might be a nice project since it's small but could be made functional as well. I would also like to see the comic you worked on to put it in it's context.

Great :)

The comic was a Indiana Jones/Mummy style story, an adventure comic set in the 20's...
Here is one of the pages of the prologue...

A functional scarab could be really hard to do, because the wings are hidden into the body of the scarab, and they opens like a flick knife, turning the "knob" under the scarab, and the result should be something like this...

So, it's almost impossible in the real world... Maybe a removable pair of wings could work...

Oh, I almost forgot (and sorry for the bump)...
The materials of the scarab are gold and emerald-like transparent stone, so a replica could be done with a pewter or resin body and transparent green resin for the "jewels"... Any "expert" want to chime in to give me an opinion? :)
Thanks.

if you need a forge (blacksmithing) im willing to lend a hand, i got some minimal experience on it right now, but ive got a few nice peices ive produced with it.

and i can melt just about anything in it but steel......so far :)

Quick question: In your opinion, should I keep posting concept art or I should wait until at least one project was done (to see the response)?
Let me know :)

I've been fooling around with this one, and am planning on doing some more physical work this weekend. Any thoughts on scale for this? I started basing it's overall size on a cylinder I have, but it seems too small. So, I'm just going to build a cylinder from scratch. :D Just wondering if there is a size you had in mind before I start carving.

Ok, I still have a bunch of sketches to scan... :D

@TDR: do you have any ideas for some new Constantine props? (Something you had in mind but you can't visualize...?)

@SethB6025: approx. the lenght of the cylinder should be 10cm (4")...
It should be a short rifle (but I don't have a size in mind).

I'll post something new as soon as possible (you know... Real life... :lol )

Thanks again. ;)

I started roughing out the body today.

All the panels will be inset to give a little height difference.

LOVE IT. Coutn me interested.

^ I want one of those as well. Maybe you could do a laser cut part for the blade on the short-rifle-revolver-sword that I'm working on.

Yep, Jmtwo work is damn impressive. :)

And do the design in AI will be easy (both the blade and the cross design) so I suppose it's doable, when the main body (but, most important, the barrel) will be done (so we have exact measurements) I can send the file to Jmtwo if he's available.
Just let me know if this "workflow" is good for both of you :)

hmm I dunno lemme sit down and think of some stuff. I can even scan through the game weapons and see if there is anything worth re-designing.

Bump for us. :D

And a quick question... What about costumes? (For me this is too much, but maybe someone is comfortable working in this field, so I'm asking...)

Also, do you like "inspired" props?
I mean: a new kind of blaster from Blade Runner or a new lightsaber?
These kind of things are more suitable for collectors like us?

Good idea. I think some "inspired by" items could do quite well. Maybe some dialog that mentions something, but we never actually get to see it.

I should have an update on the handcannon soon.
