These look excellent, but I'm planning on a MK VI or VII.

How similar are the fasteners? I need to examine some high res pictures more closely. I'm not planning on the armor built until next year so I'm not that knowledgeable about that level of detail on the versions of the suits.

Mmm .. quickly checked my refs, and I don't think these are compatibles with those Mark suits. Let me know what you find out!

Tonight is casting night .. I'll have a complete set in the next days, and will shoot it in primer, you'll be able to see how these come out!! I need to duplicate some molds to be able to be more productive, then it's on full steam!

As for the hip pod above, more details will come later when I'm ready!

!! Update on the molds !!!

Ah my infamous shoulder bolts. That's one of the reason why I heven't begun shipping sets yet. My first mold was done from a Shapeways White Strong and Flexible part. DON'T ORDER THIS MATERIAL if you intend to mold it. Bad idea .. way too porous. So as you can see, it teared, my first mold ever .. I can take that as experience!

I took that master, primed and sealed it, and then the 2nd mold was done. Much better, no tear but still not a nice finish.

I got tired of losing my time, bit the bullet and ordered my local guy here to print this with his polyjet printer. Holy cow, night and day people!!! The mold is silky smooth, and cast are even better! Notice the glossy finish .. very happy!!!

Same thing here, had that chest bolt printed in WSF at first .. stopped losing my time, and got it polyjet printed. Beautiful strong and injection like finish!

My first lego mold!! Lol .. there has to be something I didn't do properly. Probably should have run a line of hot glue inside. Mold is perfect inside otherwise! :thumbsup

Guys,
I'm now trying to figure out the much bigger hip pod (13.3cm across) and ways to do the mold and the castings too. This is a lot of rubber and I'll have to get another resin to slush cast them.

Now, the question is, who would be interested in having a set of hip pods too? They're gonna come as a 2 pack only and way worth it if you want your details to be crisp and sharp and movie accurate.

Post your interest in this additionnal piece. Of course, it's a different offer but could be packed along with your bolt set should you decide to get a set of these too! The clip mold, as you have seen in the previous post, is already molded and ready to be cast!

Update! FINALLY had some time to put on this project!! Wow, how life can get in the way!!!

3 sets of bolts are gonna be available! The hip pods are NOT yet available. So if you just want the bolts, PP me and they should be in the mail within the next few days!! I'm gonna wait 24 hours for the payment, after that, I PM the next one on the list.

For those who'd wonder, I shot some of the bolts randomly in primer to see if they had bubbles or anything. That's why they some are light grey!

Bolts will begin to go out this week end. I'll get shipping quote for around the world and after that, I'll be able to just ship them right away.

Also, I'm closing this run to 15 sets. After that, the price is gonna go up. Not sure by how much yet.

Update .. wow .. 2 the same days, aren't we crazy!

Guys, just because words just don't cut it .. I'll begin to crank these out when I have time, so people with bolts and pod will also get PM as I get ready! Pods are hand slush cast in 65D. Nice and solid, thick enough for good support and not too heavy if these are for costumes like mine!

Also, I need to go buy bigger box for people who'll get everything as these pods are quite massive!
