So, my mark 4 and the wife's "mark *****" suits made their debut last night. We couldn't make it to steps without having someone stop us to take our picture! Althugh I didny get any! :-[ I did get a few of hers but after I suited up, I couldn't get to my phone! Im gonna suit up later today so I can post pics of the finished suit. But in the mean time I do have some pics of her finished suit. What do you think?

One the ing I like about her suit (besides the obvious!!) : lol is her thigh and upper arm pieces. I wanted them to be more stream lined and like the red and white/silver rescue armor that is out there. So I modeled those parts in blender then unfolded them and built. So they are 100% custom. But not free handed. You guys on this board have taught me so much. I'm really glad I joined! Just wait till future builds! I ain't done! These are just my "first crude attempts"!

Nothing crude about it man great job, from one first time builder to another I'm in the same boat last night I won $500.00 in a costume party in downtown Windsor now I'm like what can I build to top this.

Thanks everyone! A guy I work with does wedding photography on the side. He is going to do a photo shoot of the two of us! Until then, here are some shots of my finished suit. I learned a lot that will need to be improved on for the next build. But this one came out pretty good.

the files are robo's files and stealth's foam edits. you can find them on this board without too much trouble. just search "iron man mark 4 foam files"
The hands were jowes easy hand files and the helmet is sharkheads file unfolded by stealth that was reunfolded by IMIM2 which was reunfolded by me! haha so im not even sure any more what helmet file i use! :lol

Does the opening on the lower rib hollow?
It should be gold color over there.
Also the upper front thigh, should be covered with foam from the inside.
Sorry, couldn't help it.
Overall it is a very nicely build on both.
Now on to Mk8!!!! C'mon, when are you going to start? :confused

Oh, I know those mistakes I made. I just ran out of time. The last couple of weeks has been a flurry of activity trying to finish the wife's suit in addition to mine!
I also never got around to making hip pods or shoulder bolts. I also never got to build my knee reinforcements. With led to my left leg ripping apart half way thru the night.
These are all things that will Be fixed in the next build.
Next one is also going to have a sub suit similar to what xrobots is doing on his build.

Get a scrap foam, painted in gold, and slap on the gap. It should be 10 minutes job.
Next build? Your next build IS MK8!!!
Let the plates stick with magnets. So you can suit up fast (just like in the movie).
You can speed build Iron lady suit, c'mon....:lol

In case no one noticed, I DID speed build the iron lady! That was all done in 2 weeks!! (Compared to 3 months for my suit!) Yes, mark 8 is my next build. Any you took the thoughts right outta my head. The plates are gonna snap on! although, I doubt I can make them fly across the room and attach all by themselves! : lol

Actually, her "iron thong was completely free handed. I held up pieces of paper against her and drew the shape. Then cut them out as templates. It worked out pretty good but the butt didn't cover quite as much as she hoped... *oops!* : lol
