Look really really nice! So does the one for your wife. I can't wait to see pics of the two of you once this is completed. Great job.

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

Those are fantastic!!! And the suits look Awsom too. Thanks for you post on my build thread.
The CNC does cut back on template time but the corners of the foam tear a bit so there is more time in filling. I'm thinking of cutting solid templates out for .5 ABS sheets so my frfiends can get a good straight cut through the foam.

Cheers

Keep up the good work fellow Starkarian,

My girl friend saw this and now wants something like that.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

My hand repulsors are built!!
They aren't tidied up yet. But they are functional!! I took apart a couple of led flash lights and added a momentary switch from radio shack. This is what I got:

That's not a camera trick. They are CRAZY bright!!

And here are the inner workings. Very simple. When I pull my wrist back, the switch hits my forearm piece. A nice side effect is that I always have a flash light (or two!) with me if I lose anything in the dark!!

Looks great Helagak! Bonus if you're wife is willing to display the twins in her suit like that. XD

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

Officially book marked your thread. Great idea using that switch for the hand light. I like how you used that hinge for easy access. Great idea.

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

Yeah, one thing I don't like is that if you noticed, I have the hinge Velcro'd tothe top of the hand. Thought it would be nice to have it removable. But it turns out the Velcro just isn't strong enough to keep it perfectly in place. I'm going to remove the Velcro and attach the hinge to the top of the hand permanently after paint. Ya live, ya learn.

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

Good work on the lights. I have the same flashlights 4 pack Canadian Tire for $6.00 can't go wrong. I was thinking of doing something similar with the hand motion, I was going to use copper contacts and run the + - on the glove and guard but I like your way better less chance of miss contact

Cheers

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

There is still a chance of missing the trigger on my setup. I am contemplating the best way to address that. however the real advantage is that all wiring is containded to the glove. if you had a contact on the forearm then your glove would be permentetly attached to the forearm. thats no fun. :lol good luck.

Re: Ironman foam first ever build!! Iron WOMAN started- page 9!

You afraid that the trigger fell off?
Try to strengthen it by using 2mm strips (should use your abs' scrap).
See the yellow parts. Round piece is the switch.
Burried it under lots of glue.
Top picture if enough clearance, bottom one if not enough space.
