I plan on doing a quick 3D model of the armor pieces after the concept is complete.

since the White Ranger had gold arm bands

I think you could leave them out but it couldn't hurt to make some sort if bicep guard. A more tricked out set if gauntlets might be a plus also.

Ya now that the shield is "done"
I can move on to sketching the gauntlets, belt/cod and shin guards

Even though White Ranger doesn't wear his morpher on his belt like the others
Id still like to make one

Just so if I get into any trouble I can grab it and scream "It's Morphin' time!"

I don't care who you are, you hear that, its gonna throw you off your game

UPDATE

colored the back of the shield

The colors are just to give an idea of how it could look
Im going to aim for a more muted darker gold like the real White Rangers shield

And also leaning towards some subtle wear and tear and possible battle damage

cause lets face it, Rita and Lord Zedd's evil monsters never left the Rangers uniforms perfectly clean

I think I might throw together a quick low poly 3D model of this shield to help see how I can modify and build this armor
I also want to try and make a cardboard prototype to see how it would fit

still lots to do but Im loving every minute of it

It looks good. It's been a really long time since I paid attention to the back, but for some reason I though the back black piece was one whole part... :confused

Also, for the nominally spandex, why not try to blend an IM bit with a morph suit or something? Like, have the morph suits for the joints, but where there is no worry about movement (like along the upper and lower legs for example), have the plating? Like a knight in old Europe?

UPDATE

Concept for forearms/gauntlets
Went with a raised armor plating to give it the feel of the White Rangers

Each plating will be gold
in between each end black piece, will be a small stripe of indented gold to break apart the black

I drew it short but I want it to be nearly all or the full forearm
and would connect to a small hand plate

For the plates I wanted to keep the look of the White Rangers
So I did 4 curved plates that have a indent in the middle to break them apart

4 plates for the full gauntlet
in between will be the black under to break them apart

Im really liking how this is coming together
Its fun to rethink the White Ranger, and gives me an excuse to watch every episode of Power Rangers over again hahaha
