Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

If anyone is checking this out and could share some light on stable stilt ideas or how to tackle the hand/finger movement, that would be great!!!!

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

Stable stilt ideas? Look into drywall stilts.

Looks great, what are you using for the rivet look?

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

Have you ever tried drywall stilts...just wondering how easy to walk in they are?

I wish! :) I hear from a lot of costumers that they aren't bad; they're also used by circus performers. As with anything, you'll want to practice. :)

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

A little OT but can we see your Iron Man in the background? I like the Iron Monger.

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

oh man this thing looks so COOL! there is so much detail. how big is this going to be when it's all done? Will it be wearable or just for show?

Wow, just wow...

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

I'm guessing it'll be wearable since he asked about stilts.

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

I am an old drywaller and stilts are easy. Check the pawnshops in your area for a pair. Proly cost you around 100 to 175. Also look into residential stilts as those are shorter. I have a costume i made with stilts and cut old foam couch cusions into boots. The top of the helm is at 8'6". Good luck.
I love the Iron monger so far.

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

Wow. That looks great! Cant wait to see the final product.

By the way... How'd you solve the icing problem? LOL

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

That is going to be completely mahoosive when it complete. Although for me might just be regular size :p

Looking forward to seeing the final complete full build. And would love to see which stilts you will be getting.

Good luck

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP

Thanks Guys, all the positive comments help keep me in build mode!
Im playing around with buying/building my own stilts and I would guess the final height wll be around 9-10 feet. I want to make it as mobile as possible, so I'll be shooting for a large base for the feet!

LOL the icing problem is still an issue, but the testing will continue.
Ledragon the costume you posted is epic, very nice indeed ,how was the movement on those stilts?

Re: Iron Monger Rubbermaid style WIP
