Iron Man

Do no want to hijack this thread but there this so much Pep thread on RPF, and I'm a beginner in Pep like Hama.
I've finished my Pep helmet and I need to "resin" it now.

Is it the same resin on the exterior and in the interior of the helmet (exept the fact that fiberglass is needed in the interior) ?

Polyester resin (known as Fiberglass resin, but technicaly the fiberglass is the fabric).

Is it correct ?

Yes that's it. :)

Well I mean, someone else does the work to make the file and make sure it's right - other than cutting and assembling, is it more or less like a "model" kit made from paper??

I don't know about your skills, but it takes a lot of them to make a hardshell helmet out of some sheets of paper.

No disrespect for the 3D modellers, I am very thankfull for all their hard work and countless hours to build these beautifull models AND share them with us. :thumbsup

But give 10 guys the same printouts and see what they come up with. I bet you get results from "Wow, looks like Winston's!" to " is that Oprimus Prime?" :lol Finhead and Stealth are surely the Winstons among us.

As for the the resining: Polyester is very fast and often still sticky when cured. Wouldn't epoxy be a better choice? Ok, it's damn slow, but I think it's more secure for the next layers of Bondo and automotive 2 pak fillers. Not? :love
