Hello all,
This is my first time posting on the site. Mostly I just look at posts and get jealous how awesome everyone is at this. I decided to start my first ever attempt at a build. My son wanted to be Iron Man so I'm trying to build him a costume. I wanted to use foam, but money is tight right now since we just moved and I'm paying on two houses right now. I decided to go with cardboard since I have a TON of it from moving. Not sure it will actually get done for Halloween. I got slowed down trying to re-scale pep files to fit him. I He's only 3 so it's going to be pretty small. I'm happy with how it's turning out and welcome feedback and suggestions for future builds.
I am also not sure how I'm going to finish it off. I was thinking of thin layers of fiberglass resin to stiffen the cardboard and set the shape, then thin layers of Bondo so I can sand and prep it for painting. Any thoughts of how this might work? Has anyone tried anything else with success? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
