Iron Man Titan Custom Figure Painting Contest

I think it really works in my favor that boba is a very detailed figure, the devil is in the details as they say.

In some places I think I might have gone overboard on the weathering, but it's my first time.... lol. then again boba fett is a worn out, drug around weathered mofo.

I really need to get back and finish painting the one I'm working on now. I've spent the last few days building a new computer and getting all the software up to date, guess I know what I'll be doing tonight now :).

Looks good! thinking mine may be a little too simple a concept now, heh.

I think that all depends on the subject.

For instance I think DDay's looks great with lots of weathering and different colors because it's Boba Fett, however a Stealth repaint would look a very unstealthy if it had a lot going on

Keep in Mine this is for Breast Cancer Awareness :)

Extra points for a light up reactor :)

Well I thought it looks great and in keeping with the character

Better hurry up, voting starts on the 20th :)

What a great idea for competition! I occasionally paint minis for a hobby, and I have never thought of buying one of these and converting and painting it. Can't wait to see everyone's finished iron men. Good luck guys! :)

I found it odd when I primed it, that the head and arms have a completely different texture than the torso and legs. Arms and head are sticky... Torso and legs very flat, dry. Two different plastics?!

Finally found some time to break the figure down, sand, prime, and get the base coat on. I'll hopefully get another coat on today so I can move on to the detailing

I agree, if you just touch the pieces you can feel the difference even before paint. The head and arms are made from a sort of really solid hard rubber to give them some flexibility where the torso and legs are just hard plastic.

I just wanted to let everyone know I will need 3-5 pictures by Saturday so I can post the voting thread by Sunday.

Thanks

STILL working on mine. That's not to say it's some CRAZY paint job that is taking weeks to do... it's more about how crappy the weather is here in Vancouver, and how angry my wife and kid get when I do a bunch of spray painting, and then bring it into the small condo to dry.

So I basically have to do it AFTER they go to bed, and let it dry in the bathroom with the vent on.

SHOULD get it done by Saturday... there's a push now anyway!

slapped a coat of clear coat on it and I'm saying done, I did something else that doesn't show up in pictures to it as well, I'll explain better when I do a write up :). Till then back shot. small back.jpg

Hope this is cool, but I will be taking pics on Saturday and sending by Saturday late afternoon.

Just having a few drying time issues!

If that's too late, lemme know and I'll figure something out... but Saturday afternoon should fix all issues.

Thanks!

I took a bunch of photos today during the 2 hours of snow we got here in PGH. If most people are posting tomorrow, I would love to re-shoot them tomorrow morning without the ridiculous weather. If not I'll post what I got!
