My old friend a-simmetry has already come to visit me, but this time I have the weapons to kick her a**.

I'm working closely on a few details of the back rings of the helmet as you can see, and it should provide one of the most screen-accurate helmet ever, at least for that back part.

I've attached other few parts and you can see from the side view that I have already done the second layer of the ear sockets. Tonight, I should be able to attach the last layer (the one I should put the ear disks on).

I'm also thinking about attaching the front part of the chin directly to the faceplate and THEN attach the jaws to the chin in order to create simmetry in a easier way.

Also, I have a psd template of the thing I drew on the sintra sheet and I could make one of the back parts.

This has been a very informative thread, and a pleasure to see your progress! I really need to find out more about this Sintra stuff, and where I can find it. Since I live in the middle of nowhere. A very smallville-ish town.

Update for you

As you can see, I used another method to cover this version.
Easier, quicker and more accurate.
The cam on my cellphone has a wicked angle so the faceplate looks just like the old one, but I can assure you it does not.

Still a lot of work to do, but things get along pretty well right now.

Im really really thinking bout taking a go at this helmet using ur templates..one question how do u bend the sintra around the mouth cheek area? how to u get those nice curves from plastic?? heat?

any other help tips you might have Id love to hear!! thanks

Mine broke too. i have been working in an iron man helm out of EX-CELL a low grade pvc identical to Sintra . here are some of my shots i used a motor cycle helm for the top of the skull
