Iron man motorised faceplate electronics tutorial!!!

Quick update on a suggestion:
Just been chatting with a friend of mine that has suggested using my phone to control the animatronics via a wifi reciever. Using iphone does anyone more knowledgeable than me know if this is possible?! That would be COOL!!!!

Not sure about iPhone... but there are several Android/Arduino tutorials out there..

:)

Might buy a cheap android to see if i can get it working. I currently have my UNO recognising signals from my TV remote control so infra red is CLOOOOSE :)

I dont know much about either..

my first thoughts are:

1.) is BT built into any of the phone(s) I have/want to use.. 9can it be tweaed ot send out my own signals/make an app..etc)

2.) re-search BT modules/add-ons for the Arduino..

Wi-fi has me thinking it might not me easily possible..

need a sender and receiver... not sure how that would work from phone side? (same way perhaps?)

I will look further into the Bluetooth suggestion when I'm not swamped with other things. Sounds cool though

I'm not sure if it's possible or not, but what if you put a button switch at the top of the helmet, under the padding or something that when triggered opens/closes the face plate, jaw and eventually back part ? This way, when you put it on, it closes around your head and it gets off the same way, just push the helmet on your head, it opens and you can remove it ? Of course it doesn't interfere with the ability to open and close the face plate when your helmet is on, but it would be a nice feature, wouldn't it ?

I'm sure that's possible and would look very cool indeed. It's not really what I'm personally looking for though and way to complicated for me to side track.

Others are more than welcome to continue this thread. I'm back working on my armour at the moment so electronics have been put to the side for a few weeks. Be nice to see some more contributions. See if anyone has applied these codes or suggestions... C'mon don't be shy nearly 7000 lurkers, someone must have some progress to offer :)

nice...

in the vid.. you 'are' using an amp? (what one? a breakout board?)

and just an Arduino mini/nano or something.. using PWM audio output then?

(SimpleSDAudio library?)

thanks!

Guys watching this. Any chance one of you can modify my code to replace the switch with a working IR receiver.

It would probably be better if you posted what IR receiver you plan on using...(or want to use)

im sorry for the late reply im busy :/ i used 500mw amplifier and arduino mini or Gizduino mini (philippines version :D) http://www.e-gizmo.com/KIT/images/gizduino mini USB/gizduino mini USB 328168.png . and i used PCM or PWM audio i think :D then convert the wav audio into code.
PEW pEW!
