Iron Man MkIV suit attempt.(WIP) UPDATE 12/21/10

Re: Iron Man MkIV suit attempt.(WIP)

thanks. hmmm strange. I am 5'6.9 and I used pepakura designer to see how big the pieces will be if I keep the as they are now and it turned out that they are just a bit too big for me but in terms of legnth for the fit they should be fine.

I also pepepd and arm and so far it is good for me in terms of length. which leads to a question why the legs are so too big for you if by my measurements they should be fine for me and I am smaller than you.

Maybe is the proportion of the body or something, dont know.

at first i did have problems. well i scaled differently for the parts. i am 5'7.5 tall, medium head. I scaled the helmet, chest, back and shoes to 90%, the leg parts to 80%, and that's it so far. If i did not rescale them, my suit would once again like the 1st one i did, without the resin. and looks like this:

i have no idea yet for the other parts scaling yet.

Re: Iron Man MkIV suit attempt.(WIP)

tol what kind of paper did you use?

i print them on a4 paper(coupon bond, thick ones, not oslo ok? :D) then paste(gluestick elmers) them onto thick folders then cut them. I use double sided tapes to stick them together as it is a lot cleaner.

i used fiberglass resin man. usually, fiberglass resin here in the philippines can be found on paint centers/sellers but mine i got it from my grandma who lives in new york so it took some time for it to arrive here.

Re: Iron Man MkIV suit attempt.(WIP) UPDATE 12/07/10

you could have the abs go on in two parts like the way chest and back go together once you have them hardened and detailed cut them into two parts with a dremel and then clean up the edges, then put on the cod like a pair of underwear i believe this is how the tmp suits fit together in two parts as shown in his thread here
