hey guys, i finally find the right time to make my own wip thread, through the months of studying and learning how to make IM pieces. Okay i know you all know me for all those questions i asked. I would like to thank robo and dungbeetle for the files, and all those great ppl who answered my questions and gave me tips, kagn, maulfett, starx, dark asylum,Masked Rider, bimmer and the ever returning finhead :lol. I also admire Graphic Jordan and Darth Cerberus' work also :).

Okay dunno where to start but here are some pics of my work. I don't have fiberglass mat yet but i think the strength of the pieces will do for the meantime.

Feel free to comment, and also i wish some of you guys would help me out with some tips and suggestions.

here's the helm newly resined

oh btw i used finhead's tip to use clips on the faceplate while resining it, so i won't bother to dremel it apart.

here's some parts primered and resined.

yeah my little brother just keeps butting in on pictures hehe.

the leg parts so far

i will use starx' articulation technique on those joints, also replacing the shoe with dancin' fool's shoe files coz' i can't find spray foam here to fill the sole of the boot.

the helm

and the latest pic from the helm

i used kagn's magic sanding block technique to sand the helm. Sanding is the devil indeed. :lol

and i've redone the chest and back,

i found out that there's a thicker high heat tolerant double sided tape and i used it for a cleaner pep. I plan to resin them tomorrow, well if it doesn't rain and the sun shows up.

also planning to use magnets to attach/detach the back piece of the helm, thanks to masked rider for the idea.

well that's it, ill try to post more updates in time, due to my hectic schedule due to college classes. Sorry for the pics though, i know they're quite plenty.

Looking GREAT! i think your off to an excellent start, if you dont have fiberglass matt you can mix body filler with some fiberglass resin and slush coat the inside of your parts this is just as strong, PM me and i will give you some more info on this if you like

hey no prob, it is the next best thing if you cant get your hands on any fiber glass cloth, just remember to make sure you have resined the outside of you parts first so they hold their shape

Re: Iron Man MkIV suit attempt.(WIP)

looks good :) did u have any problems with saling the suit. the original scale was a bit to big for me but i couldnt find a scale that would work for me for every piece.

for example everything needed to be scaled down to some extent except for the fnger and the cod (i am ot fat). whats up with that?

at first i did have problems. well i scaled differently for the parts. i am 5'7.5 tall, medium head. I scaled the helmet, chest, back and shoes to 90%, the leg parts to 80%, and that's it so far. If i did not rescale them, my suit would once again like the 1st one i did, without the resin. and looks like this:

i have no idea yet for the other parts scaling yet.
