Iron Man MK V proyect

dlowrider where do you live ??
is 3d print cheap at your country ?
ur work is really awesome so it can make into a suit case ?

I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, not really cheap but I have enough material and the printer acquired two years ago, I use it for my private work, I had the chance at the time of purchase and do not regret, most of the time I use it in a particular way to make parts of motorcycles and cars very specific, and this is my new project, I'm pretty sure it will be very cost effective over time.-

Wow means you owned a 3d printer yourself
Just need to buy filaments or some sort of cartridge
By the way do you use Facebook or whatsapp on mobile that I could ask you over there ?

dlowrider This IS AMAZING! but Can I ask what this is goig to fold down/condense into?

I would of thought it couldn't be the suitcase because you would need to fold parts into other parts (like The Cube from Transformers or Russian Doll things)
Just wanted to know what it would fold down to :)

my idea for this is simple, I think, the external shape of the suitcase has to be the inside of the parts greater dimension, is like a puzzle, and the internal mechanism to disassemble think like a clock, springs, gears of various shapes and sizes, and the most practical of this is that it will not use anything electronic for the unfold, it's like old rope automated systems synchronized.

dlowrider

oh so your going for more of a Suitcase size as opposed to Tony Starks Briefcase size?
either way its still awesome

So, you're going to 3d print this, correct?

Are you going to make the entire thing a collapsible-connected suit, so you can pull it out of a suitcase, and connect a few parts here and there, so it's a wearable suit?

Or are you going to make each piece separate, so it's easier to put on?

(1-massive piece, or many separate pieces?)

In the design, all parts are separated, I print all the parts 1 by 1, but pieces that are moving parts, such as hinges, bushings, gears, thats are performed directly on the CNC, with reference scale and measures.
The idea is to make the briefcase, and when opens, unfolds the armor.
I remember the children's old books, when opened displayed a figure in 3d, to take an idea or parameter, is a dream, but it is possible to do.

Yes bro, that pic is from double negative concept art, is in the Art of Iron man II, I´m finishing 3d model and I have a lot of ideas to make the armor unfold it, I make a model with cinema 4D, like the movie and really Im happy with the results, now I try to finish the model, I try to make all parts with soft shapes.-
