Chest is almost completely bondoed , just the color section and the rib area with touch ups. But if anybody is interested in knowing my recipe mixture for resin and resin hardner I use 2 1/2 ouches of resin with 10-11 drops of resin hardner and the the bondo is really just guess work , so far the chest is really solid and I just use spray paint to highlight the touchups , but for now I'm currently working on the other bicep then moving onto the other shoulder and proceeding to the abs, but overall I do indeed have a tip that will speed the process of bondo and fiberglass , use a heat gun but be careful lol , my chest almost caught on fire twice , luckily there was very minimum damage which I repaired with fiberglass, but thanks for reading .

WP_20160407_05_46_00_Pro.jpgHello everyone , I been rather busy with other matters , but I do have good news I made some touch UPS on the chest and I have completed the other shoulder , and I made a custom neck from cardboard which will be fiber glassed and bondo.

question, can you thin the resin with a denatured alcohol?

I've read that this is the case (lacquer thinner as well), but I've never used it. I use acetone myself. I use polyester fleece rather than fiberglass mat, so I like how it lets the resin soak all the way through quickly and also gives me way more time to apply. So acetone I can recommend if you're looking for the same characteristics.

WP_20160410_05_20_51_Pro.jpgThanks Creative Stress and I will, and there is an update everyone I've have completed bondoing the back piece and I've already completed an upper forearm and an elbow , but I have encountered a problem, I printed out the default size of the helmet in landscape mode and it's very big , I was wondering if anybody could perhaps give me a helmet file for 5ft5-5ft6 person because I only have access to pepakura viewer , it would help alot, because if I can't find a file there will be no helmet :(

You can't install Pepakura Designer? That's going to make it tough. Iron Man is the only helmet I've given up on because the tolerances are like either you look like a candy apple or you won't even be able to get it on and the thin little sliver between those where it's perfect is hard to hit by random chance.

Well I can but I can't afford to pay for the program , but once I sell the suit it's definitely my top priority to buy the program, especially since pepakura designer version 4 came out and yeah I heard about the cons of the helmet, but I'll find a way to make it work

Oh, well you can still install and use it. You only have to pay if you want to save the file and a few other features. But you can still use it to resize files and print them.

And oh do post your iron man suit!! I want to see, it doesn't matter which one.

WP_20160422_23_29_18_Pro.jpgWP_20160422_23_28_59_Pro.jpgUpdate time, due to the rain, I couldn't fiber glass but I've managed to pep both of the forearms minus the gloves and wrist pad, it's been awhile since I'm currently doing side projects like my iron man hulk buster helmet , link provided here ,http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=259753 , but progress continues, and thanks to member Markseven , I now have access to the fingers which the link is provided here if anyone else needs it :popcorn http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...ali-lomo.blogspot.de/2015/02...-free.html?m=1 .

One question, what is strong enough to hold the chest and back piece together? And how exactly do you attach it? And unfortunately my friend Velcro is unworthy...

I'm working on the same problem. I think what I will try (and this may or may not work for you) is put a hinge in the top part that goes over my shoulders from the back to the chest, and then put magnets and a strap clip on the inside of the lower chest piece to join it to the back. Basically a clam shell setup, where I open the chest and back, lower it over the abs, then magnetically and clip it together. I'm probably a month or so away from working on my chest piece, but I'll let you know what happens when I try it out.

If I do go that way you will be credited of course, and for everyone else just a small update for now, managed to build the back section, and once I add more supports it will be in great shape (literally...) but I've managed to test fit around the abdomen and it's a tight fit but it'll work, so far so good, just impressed by how great the pieces fit, but updates to be posted and keep the views coming :), because more views = more Determination.
