Iron Man Mark 15 SNEAKY Helmet Build (W.I.P.)

Too cold for anything guys. Woke up this morning to -31°c. Spending my time reading up on electronics, looking into 3d modeling course from Rhino and working to get my car done. Soooo Coooooold...GM
 
You sir are exposed lol. Hey you can help me Ghost, or at least i think you can. I have a computer that is hugely outdated and i may be in the market for a new one. However i am lacking bigtime in knowledge regarding computers. So what would you recommend. I had posted the question on my tools thread but i have yet to receive any response. Sorry for posting on your thread, guess i should've pm'd you instead...GM

Never a need to apologize, George. Always happy to help, looks like I need to check your thread :lol!

The computer I'm using is custom built. My best friend is a computer guy, his has a very high performance one. He has been the one who builds and maintains my PC for almost ten years now. The one I'm using is the second one, he recently built. So in ten years, the longevity is good!

I'm going to see him tonight. I can take some notes on the parts he used. While you may not be into building your own (though I highly recommend it), the parts he used may shed light on the type of performance you desire and what to look for. Newegg is a good place to order parts, always good prices!

I'll let you know what I find. Builds are a pain without a good working computer.
 
Very cool man! This was always my favorite iron man suit ever since they did the concept art for iron man 1.

Nice work on the helmet so far! It looks awesome!

Did you use fiberglass mat for the inside as well or did you just resin it?
Just curious how the weight of the bondo is working out with the resin only - fiberglassing is such a pain for me.

Thanks man! I look forward to working on it again, when it's not snowing every day:lol!

I did lay fiberglass cloth, and used epoxy resin. I also used some rondo on the inside as well. It is quite heavy, but that's no worry. The end result will be a casting of this helmet (with the author's permission of course) and the weight will be lighter. I wish I get some work done on it, but the weather hasn't been good at all for outside sanding. The cold air hurts my hands after a while.

But soon, ladies and gentlemen. Very soon........

Thanks man! I'm going to make a strong push this weekend to get some work done on the sneaky helmet. I haven't had much time lately, too many projects at one time (just the way I like it!). Now that winter has finally ended, I aim to be outside a lot more, getting more sanding and smoothing work done.

And, ask away!!! I'm always happy to help out fellow cardstock builders! :)
