Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico 100% complete see photos page 11 (pepakura)

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Pepper Red is the older color we used for our generation 1 and 2.
The gold i am usure of. But remember if the gold is a chrome gold dont use clear coat. It will remove the gold effect. Only use clear coat on normal paint or paint with pearlesent shine then it will work.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

This thread is so inspiring to me. It's an incredible pleasure to see how the suit is growing up and you are working on it with an unbelievable passion.
I wish you good luck with the paint and i'm excited to see it finished.

best regards
Mike

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Thanks,Today i will finish the small details before paint it, i will paint the IM before thurdays.
Thanks again for the support.:thumbsup

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

The painting has to wait a little bit because is rainning and probably on the weekend too. So i still working on other little details like the eyes lights, i using a safety glass, cd plastic case, reflector tape and foamy, then i will use a few very small leds (1/8) with a level swicth.
Also i'm working with the 4 hinges for the faceplate, i started with sintra hinges for testing the funtion if it works then i tracing the sintra hinges on the metal panel or a strong lexan, cut and install.
To hold the hinges i will use chicago screws that i already installed with a small amount of resin fiberglass on the bottom of each screw.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Love the details on the eyes.. looks like a good way to have them lit up.. can't wait till my suit is so far I and start thinking about that, but might be a good idea to safe those things for rainy days

Hey Maulfett - where did you find the material? I've looked at a lot of fabric (sewing, automotive and marine) sites and didn't find anything close to this!

I found it here in my hometown a fabric sewing store, it is a heavy vinyl, cost about $25 a yard (3' x 5') that 's all needed for my ironman inner parts if you don't make too many mistake:angry.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Ok, another update in Puerto Rico, it still rainning:angry, this year is the more rainning in the history of Puerto Rico, i just finished the lexan hinges and the leds for the eyes of IM, once i finish with the paint for the complete suit i will add and glue padding for the helmet interiors and the leds eyes.
P.S.The eyes leds photos one is with the flash on (camera shot) and the other with the flash off, the leds are very bright on both ways.
