Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Just a little update, the knee knobs, with screw inside of each ones.
Lower legs are 95% done just a liitle more sanding and primer, thighs still need bond and ect, ect.......i'm still working with the gloves specially the fingers armors very soon this suit it will be completly done. I'd been busy with other peronal problems now my car is broken......oh well:cry

Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (90% complete)!!!

Well basically complete, just the gloves, it is taking me too much time cause i'm doing the little wire system that is going inside all fingers armor, that 's why. The armor size is 6'2" almost 6'3", the waist is about 39" around that is like 32 or 33 jean size.
The rest of the armor it is complete, i will take few day off then i will start put in some light filler bondo, light sanding and 2 or 3 coat of automobile primer, then paint, small battle damage paint,, and at the end the lights and padding, up and down system for the faceplate ect......
remmenber, i made this just myself, i don't have a team or crew. I believe this IM armor is one of the most movie accurate out there and i 'm proud of it, thanks for you support and comments.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

I must commend you for this project. This is not just folding and cutting a themplate of pepakura. You taken it a step longer and took you're time perfecting and getting the details forward. This is one of the best suits i seen been made of pepakura medium. I congratulate you on a great build. I really hope you join us at the Elite Marvel Costume group at Siwdat with your armor once your done. Awsome build.

Sorry if i missed this, but is this only for display or is this going to be a costume as well? And do you have the joints hinged together for articulation?

It is a costume but i will use it for display for now, it got the articulation, the straps, the clips ect... This suit for someone like 6', i'm 5'9" for me i have to make a few modification (like insert in the boots) and lose some extra pounds.

Re: Iron Man Costume from Puerto Rico (pepakura)

Ahh i see, it seems like becase of all the extra detail you have at the top of the thighs (looks great by the way) that it would be hard to walk in. Either way it looks fantastic.

I am 5'9 too. Lets share your iron man :p
