Iron man bathroom issue

im currently building my iron man costume out of foam and i just finished the cod piece but it got me thinking, what if you need to use the bathroom??

is there any advice?? because it would be a real big problem when the time comes and you wont be able to take the whole suit off

Reminds me of my first costume-forgot to put any sort of fly in it, and took me half an hour to pee! But anyway, having not built an IM suit yet I can't say for sure, but I would think that the codpiece could attach with velcro on the sides as well as the crotch area-hopefully that should help the situation.

hmmm ill give it a try and a test run if it doesnt work then ill just make a new cod piece and modify it in some way to make

my under suit has a zipper in the fly when you order them you can ask the to make it that way and the cod has velcro under the crotch

I'll chime in on this as I had to wear my suit all day. I wore a two piece spandex underneath the suit, and as for the cod, I seperated it at the front and reattached it with velcro. This also gave the ease of putting the suit on, as I did not have to put on the cod/abs first, allowing more flexibility and not needing as much assistance.

i dont wear a wetsuit or one-piecelike others, just simple under armour long sleeve shirt and separate pants for that reason lol. but yes like kolin said, separate the cod piece and make like a 'quick release' with velcro. i cut my cods on the side or near front of a thigh, and under the crotch if its not a 2 piece already. you do not go #2 while in costume haha, you just cant.

i thought about this before building both of my foam costumes. for me the crotch hangs in place so that i can flip it up. i can also still pull off my underamor if things are more dire.
if you dont want your crotch flapping around, my suggestion is velcro the sides so that you can take it off. ive already had to experiment with this. it helps alot!

Maulwalker. your water comment is very wrong. you need to drink as much as possible, even while wearing the costume. foam is an insulator. it traps in your body heat and will dehydrate you very fast. this is why you need to figure out the important things for your costume. in my gundam, i can use the bathroom which ever way i want. get stuff out of my pockets (like business cards, wallet, cellphone) and even drink from my camel-back without taking off my helmet. or if that is empty, drink from something with a straw.
i purposely made it this way to make my life easier and not risk my health.
also, there is no way that you can get through one day of a con without using the bathroom at least once.

The part that goes directly under your groin till your butt crack was replaced by a strap of nylon material (that black strap u use with the release clips)

Makes it more comfy n u can

had that same issue with my Gears costume had to get a cord to tie the cod piece up then the second issue i had was armor was wider than the bathroom doors

you can separate the piece into 2 pieces and attach it with velcro or really strong magnets. thats what i do with all my cod pieces of all my pepped costumes.

and thats what the star wars ppl of the 501th does on the clone trooper suits too.
