the plane scene (air force one). i think it got hijacked. if you look closely, the suit, with or without tony in it, punches through the side and fires its repulsor at a guy. also iron patriot is on the plane attacking someone...
I read from some movie site that the mandarin planned an attack on air force one, trying to kidnap the president. That's where the new suit comes in to save him.

IM and WM/IP attacking people on the plane, those are probably 10 Ring sleeper terrorists who took over Air Force One.
As for the theories regarding Pepper in the suit, there was talk from Fiege very early on (before filming) that Tony would use the Mk47 suit in pieces to protect Pepper during the attack on the house. Not sure if they decided to just put the full suit on her at the end of that scene. I suppose Pepper in the full suit would be a nice throwback to Rescue to get the comic geeks excited.

From a storytelling standpoint having an AI suit really makes good sense.
At the end of The Avengers, Tony was really not able to return to earth on his own and the luck or gravity pulled him back in. He could have easily been stuck. And when he did return he was not able to stop his fall.
So having a suit that can act and react for him would be smart, like if he got knocked so hard that he was knocked out for a few minutes.
Of course the suit did lose power, so even an AI suit would be 1000 pounds of junk, but it's just a movie.

From story telling standpoint, they'll have Tony Stark build the "Space Suit" just in case he have to go to space again. Which is likely on Avengers 2.

It certainly seems that Tony's little trip to another dimension has had a profound effect on him, it'll be interesting to see RDJ play Stark a little differently

I think it is most likely a dream sequence when he sees the suit looking down on him in bed, but I do think it is a nod to the "Mask in the Iron Man" story line, just as him getting drunk in IM2 was a nod to "Demon in a Bottle."

I totally agree, I was thinking more like...
Don't get me wrong, I think he looks great, and will definitely be a formidable villain, but just not exactly what I was expecting.
And what about the "10 Rings" group and emblem we saw in IM1?

The trailer does show a lot of vulnerability which if i'm honest, I don't like.
I like to see how Tony is in charge, in power and in control of things. I like the new suit and i'm hoping to see other suits in the movie too

Also, with all the old suits getting destroyed in the trailer, it almost makes me not want to start a pep build of the Mk 7! XD i want the new spangly suit!! haha.

Has there been any mention of Avenger appearances, wether that be like the easter eggs in the past movies or more upfront? I'd guess they'd keep up with references to the next Avengers, Captain America, Thor or even Guardians of the Galaxy perhaps. Any ideas?
Well we did see a couple appearances of armor that may have been unmanned. I imagine the 8-46 all look the same.
True but do you think the mark 8-46 look like the mark 47?

A couple things I saw/noticed. The guy in the plane scene with the parachute and sweet hat is the guy that becomes Coldblood-7. I'm almost positive the "hospital" scene is where Tony is given Extremis by Maya Hansen. Side note- being administered Extremis would cause him to not need the Arc reactor anymore since, in the comics, it completely rewrites his cellular structure.

I imagine we'll find they were working for Mandarin. They may not have known it, though.. Probably had some kind of Keyser Söze thing going on where there were so many middlemen that they never who their real master was.And what about the "10 Rings" group and emblem we saw in IM1?
