Iron Man 2 Black Widow SHIELD Patch

Correct me if I'm wrong (what I know about the Marvel world I get from the films, nothing more :lol) but SHIELD isn't military, right? So it's conceivable that they might not use velcro?

It seems weird to have a 'behind the scenes' photo that's been edited but that we've never seen. I've spent hours scouring the web for other photos than the ones we've already seen, and never came across that one. Weird. I wonder why they did that? :confused

I agree, although all of these high res shots almost seem like they are from the same time period, just guessing. Also, all of them are missing the patch. I will say this though, initially, none of the images had the patch. Then, when they released I think the 2nd or 3rd trailer, her action seen was in there and people ran it slow and noticed the shield patch. Suddenly it was all over the web. After that, it seemed like all of the images moving forward had the patch.

Ok just an update, here is the master before casting. I like it. No flag, I think that was too much trouble to get the detail from it

Oh, that's nice! I would be interested in this as well if you end up making them to sell.

Ok, got a couple pics to share...

And then this is the one with some grey. What do you guys think of the grey? Fine as is, darker, lighter?

I'm thinking darker. The contrast is low enough that my first impression was tone-on-tone. I realized pretty quickly that I was wrong about that, but it's definitely subtle.

Looks great regardless!

I agree on the darker. You wouldn't happen to have a color card of what you think would work would you?

Wow--that looks great! I like the darker as well comparing all the great reference. Would like to grab one of these if there is a run.

I don't know what you mean by "colour card" (newb here) but I lightened the poster picture of her until the colour of her suit roughly matched the colour of her suit in good lighting, and this is what colour the patch came out.

Don't know if that helps.

hahah I knew you guys would like that picture. also she wears a dark navy blue. also she only has one patch. and it's on the right shoulder.

Wow thanks for that photo. That helps on soooo many levels and confirms some suspicions about things too.

Looks to be either a publicity shot of an outtake. The patches has been edited out of these though... I guess they didn't want us to know about that part initially.

Thank me when I see you at san diego comic con =) oh looks like the circles on the boots close with a silver black buckle.

Ok and to compensate for lighting, probably need to go a bit darker still.

So here is a revised one

Looks fantastic!

I made a writing deadline last night (around too many breaks for research and ordering bits for this costume), so I'm excited about getting seriously down to work soon!

What makes you say only the one shoulder? Just curious because I have seen it on both as have the others... perhaps you have information we do not

Cool thanks

I would think he could do the belt pretty easily.

Make sure you give him firm deadlines when ordering. He is known to drag his feet. He will always deliver it seems.

Just putting in my bit of knowledge in the subject, though my knowledge falls more along the lines of the SHIELD comic uniforms:

The SHIELD uniform, in both IM2 and the comics are, indeed, a very DARK blue, NOT black. The only difference between the movie and comics are that the straps, holdsters, boots, etc are actually white.
Black Widow runs more along the independent SHIELD operatives in the comics. Her comic costume is not just black, but also leather, which may not be that great to run around in con-wise, but I'm sure would look pretty freakin' amazing.

The SHIELD patch is, in fact, worn on BOTH arms, usually the same design as seen on Black Widow's IM2 costume, though the colors in the comics depend on the colorist. They've ranged from white to gray to gold.

I'm currently working on my own SHIELD uniform...not exactly Black Widow's IM2 uniform, but one that really sort of mixes the movies and the comics together(I enjoy doing this far more than getting things perfectly accurate one way or the other).
Of course, everything is up to your own discretion and ideas. I just thought I'd put what I know out there for you guys. The more info and references, the better, IMO! :)

Thank you and welcome here

Possibly doing a run if anyone is interested of these after I get mine back. They're going to be embroidered which I chose because it's easier to attach and moves well with fabric, when I get them back I'll post pics
If anyone is interested let me know so I can see how many I can get, thanks!
