IRC channel ? javas annoying ggrrr :)

Hey I was wondering what the response would be to setting up a irc channel for the lair and other pred forums.
We would need a few OPS ie trusted people who would oversea people and keep the channel under some supervision.

the advantages of IRC are many, the main ones are.

Its very stable unlike java ggrr.

You can share files quickly if needed.

If anyone starts acting like a cock the OPS can ban the IP so you CANNOT come back by just changing name.

there are many more benefits which im sure anyone who uses IRC would know about. We would need a fair few people to idle in a channel ( name to be decided ) so we could get a Q bot.

anyway it was just a thought so please post your opinions good or bad.

server wise, us.undernet.org is apparently a stable server.

we would then just have to decide on OPS, and a channel name.

anyway just thought this maybe a better solution than java.

Is there a way to register with this server? I dunno, it's just a obsessive compulsive thing of mine to have an account with each IRC server I have in my bookmarks.
