Pretty ironic that ive been watching Batman Re runs here in the UK, todays episode featured Roddy McDowel as Book Worm ANYWAY i came across this today

Starring Adam West by James Tooley — Kickstarter

Did Adam West Just play Batman ? did ever do any serious acting.

I must say though i love the Old Batman stuff Cesar Romero's Joker is my all time favourite ....

He's got 166 entries on IMDB. Mostly TV series, TV Movies and cartoon voice work.

He played the captain of the spaceship in Robinson Crusoe On Mars. I noticed the sound they used for the ship engines was the same as the batmobile.

The Mayor in Family Guy.

ive just read about him on wikipedia i had not idea he had appeared in so many films and TV spots

He did some semi-serious lead rolls in the 60s I think. I know at least one i saw on TCM.

And I would be the guy you see dressed as Robin in that vid! That was from the day Adam got his Palm Springs Star (not to be confused with a Hollywood Star). They had done a bit of an interview with me and "Batman" there, guess it wasn't very good lol

really?

The walk of fame has become a joke the past few years. Their merit has diminish compared to the stars given out decades ago....It seems like all the recent walk a fame stars were just publicity stunts for the star's upcoming film.........

does adam west deserve one? No, he doesnt. Just another C lister that got a break doing one memorable tv show....what next? steve urkel or sailor moon frye....hell, melissa joan hart, webster, or gary coleman maybe next

Heres the thing about Adam West, true hes a c-lister, true hes not really worth the merits as some actors on the walk of fame.

But the way i see it is Hollywood owes Adam West, his whole life he suffered with that one stigma that role of playing batman. True it wasn't a serious role, but he took the role serious.

He only really shines in Family Guy. :lol

Hollywood owes Adam West

How does Hollywood "owe" Adam West for taking on a role like any other actor, and ending up being typecast?

Sean Connery made some pretty crappy films after his Bond days were over (including a remake of Thunderball).

But Connery turned it around when he made Highlander and The Untouchables.

William Shatner will always be known as Captain Kirk, but he at least made some "post Trek" successful shows such as T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911 and Boston Legal.

I love Adam West (he IS the one and only Batman to me)...

But really aside from his recent voice acting (which face it, isn't going to win him a walk of fame star) what has he done other than Batman that is memorable?

so Lassie and the Chimp from Tarzan do deserve a star oh i forgot they already have one ...........:wacko

I thought getting a Hollywood walk of fame star would be about services to your art not based solely on memorable performances, surely 50 yrs in the buisness is worth a star.

Ask any regular person on the street who played batman in 60s and i bet 8/10 would say Adam West, hold a picture of Adam west and ask those same people who it is and again i bet they would say Batman

Who does everyone associate Batman with

Late 80s early 90s- Michael Keaton.

Currently- Christian Bale.

Ask someone, anyone, under 25 who Batman is played by. How many will say Adam West first if at all.

Once again, I love Adam West's deadpan delivery in the campy farce that was 60s Batman. It was a fun show that most everyone could find something enjoyable in.

But that farce certainly did not "make" Batman what it is today (seriously?). In fact one of the biggest concerns of Batman 1989 was that it would stay as far away as possible from the camp of the 60s series. The mid 80s saw a remolding of Batman that took a serious turn for "adult" comic book readers to enjoy.

However, if a dog and a chimpanzee have a star there really isn't an excuse for Adam West to not have one. And I'm not saying that Adam West is on the same level as an animal. :rolleyes
